We are looking for a Digital Communications Manager to strengthen our communications team

 

Do you want to be part of the energy transition? As the operator of Belgium's high-voltage grid, Elia is facing an array of challenges linked to this transition, including the integration of renewable energy into the grid, the construction of new infrastructure, and the balancing of the grid. 


To help us effectively communicate these issues, we are recruiting a Digital Communications Manager, who will oversee all our online publications which are aimed at both internal and external stakeholders. The position will mainly involve managing the various publications and features which appear on our websites, intranet, internal and external applications, and digital screens. In addition, you will explore the best tools for disseminating such information and ensure that these tools are fully utilised. 


As Elia is part of Elia Group, you will work closely with our German colleagues at 50Hertz.

 

What will the role entail exactly? 

 

As Digital Communications Manager, you will develop Elia’s digital communications strategy and then implement it with your team. You will be responsible for the digital customer journey/experience. You will set relevant communications objectives, devise a roadmap, monitor the impact of the Group’s communications and explore how digital channels can be further exploited to grow our business, enhance our reputation and bolster employee engagement. You will act as the bridge between internal customers (such as the Communication Department or other departments) and the IT & Digital Department or external suppliers. Our main digital channels are our websites, intranet, marketing emails, digital screens and a crisis alert tool.

 

Key duties

 

  • Management of digital channels: 
    • Developing a digital communications strategy and monitoring its impact
    • Working with the IT Department and external suppliers
    • Managing all activities on the Group’s intranet, websites and other digital channels, in collaboration with the communications team
    • Defining a governance structure for our digital communications channels
    • Evaluating the impact of our digital communications and suggesting ways to optimise results
  • Leading, supporting and coaching the digital communications team.
  • Carrying out digital project management from start to finish: managing digital communication projects (analysing needs, selecting and implementing solutions, testing, aligning IT needs/features with communications activities, etc.)
  • Managing the crisis communication tools used to inform stakeholders of relevant events, including through the use of text messages
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and ensuring Elia remains at the forefront of the latest developments in digital communication

Your Profile

 

  • You hold a master's degree in communications (or equivalent).
  • You have extensive experience (5-7 years) in digital communications project management and leading teams.
  • You are familiar with the latest digital trends and best practice with regards to developing a digital strategy.
  • You are interested in the field of communications and have a sound knowledge of digital technology and IT. 
  • You can combine thinking (strategy) and doing (execution) for maximum effect.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English. Knowledge of German is desirable, although not essential.
  • You are familiar with relevant software and applications such as Sitecore, Actito, WordPress, Jira, Google Analytics & Data Studio….
  • You are a positive, creative, flexible and dynamic team member. You take ownership of your work and have strong leadership skills. You can see things from the customer's/end user's perspective and seek out the best solution(s) for meeting their needs.
