Elia is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage transmission grid (380 kV to 30 kV) and is responsible for developing and maintaining the grid, providing users with access to it and controlling energy flows. IT Digital Application Manager

The Digital & Data department under the direction of the Chief Digital Officer is responsible for executing the company's digital transformation. Transversal to all the group's activities, this transformation includes the implementation and maintenance of diverse solutions enabling the digital ambitions of our core businesses and beyond, mastering and leveraging the growing role of the data, the digitization of our different workplaces. It relies on a lightweight governance, a versatile and networked organization adopting agile methods with a focus on the user and the data.
We are looking for a candidate to reinforce our team in this challenging and exciting domain as soon as possible to take the role of IT Digital Application Manager. The different activities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage software digital applications, implemented with commercial off-the-shelf or tailor made, including the launching and monitoring of projects, the achievement of implementation, the follow-up of scope, budget and schedule, the management of resources, issues and risks, the production of project-related documentation;
  • Schedule and animate the required meetings/workshops, following up on deliverables/actions, setting priorities within your portfolio, all in collaboration with your different stakeholders;
  • Initiate, build and/or maintain/expand partnerships with a variety of colleagues and external providers / partners in order to make optimal use of external resources and/or technologies and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are heard and interests are taken into consideration where possible;
  • In collaboration with the Purchasing department, execute the necessary project phases when purchasing software: market research, identification of existing solutions, management of the tendering process (RFI, RFQ, RFP), definition of acceptance criteria, evaluation of offers, analysis of the integration architecture and realization of this integration in the existing application landscape;
  • Lead and master the functional and technical design of each application within your portfolio;
  • Attract, motivate, manage, evaluate and develop team members, in order to create an environment where all resources are empowered and engaged and to ensure optimal quantitative and qualitative staffing;
  • Organize testing strategy & test cases in order to ensure highest quality of deliverables;
  • Accompany the different production releases with the necessary communication / training plans;
  • Support and coordinate with the system operations team;
  • Organize and prioritize the maintenance of the delivered solutions;
  • Spend a few days per month abroad to work out projects in collaboration with companies of the Group.
Your Profile
  • You have a strong understanding of the latest information systems, digital and data related technologies;
  • You are able to act as a tech lead within a squad for line of business applications as well as a product owner of technical applications;
  • You have several years of relevant experience in software projects, on cloud & on premise, preferably based on the Microsoft technology stack, with some successful realizations;
  • Your customer orientation fits perfectly with your enthusiastic personality. You work autonomously, inspire and empower your local or remote teams;
  • You communicate easily with developers at a technical level, with stakeholders at a conceptual level, also with excellent presentation skills at a steering level;
  • You think out of the box, you are result driven with agile development experience, you stay pragmatic and resilient;
  • You have a master’s degree or above in sciences or business;
  • You are fluent in English and French or Dutch, additional language skills German are an asset;
  • Knowledge & experience in the energy and/or utilities sectors are additional assets.
