An energetic start at Elia!

Xavier Van Neste
Technician

"I've been working as a high-voltage technician at Elia for three months now. I'm glad that I made this choice, which represents a real turning point in my career."

What do you like about your job?

"No two days are the same. Before I came to Elia I worked in a factory where my work was quite monotonous. Now that I work as a high-voltage technician for Elia, my tasks are varied and I'm on the road with my colleagues every day.

"Elia is a relatively big company but it never forgets about its employees. It really invests in the human side of work. For example, Elia offers all new technicians extensive on-the-job training. Here you really have a chance to develop your full potential."

Safae Ahchad
Technical-administrative employee

What do you do at Elia?

"I'm a technical-administrative employee, which means that I act as an intermediary between Elia and our customers for our ongoing projects. My colleagues and I provide project plans, which we also process and keep up to date."

What do you like about your job?

"My job is very varied and I enjoy a lot of autonomy and responsibility. My colleagues are also nice, which makes work very pleasant."
"Elia really invests in its employees. After working here for a few months, I was invited to the Lighting Day, where you attend a range of interesting presentations about Elia and its innovative projects and get to know other new Elia employees through a series of fun activities. I also recently began a course to hone my French. This is just another example of the ways Elia cares about its employees."

Noémie Moës

"I'm currently doing a two-year starter programme at Elia that's been specially developed for young engineers. I've started in the Safety Department, where I'm learning all about safety in the various roles at Elia."

What do you like about your job?

"I'd already completed my internship at Elia and I loved the company culture, the approach to work and how willing everyone was to help one another. I also appreciate the importance attached to employee well-being. My career here got off to a smooth start. There was a welcome day when I arrived and I could always rely on my mentor for help with practical questions. I recently attended the Lighting Day, an event bringing together all new Elia employees. It was a lot of fun!"
