The AI Security Specialist ensures that all AI systems are developed and operated in a secure, reliable, and controlled way, aligned with regulatory and internal risk standards.
In this role, you focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the full AI lifecycle, ensuring that AI solutions are robust, safe, and resilient before deployment and during operations.
You work in close collaboration with the CISO, Data & Platform, and Engineering & Architecture teams, contributing to secure AI adoption across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain the AI risk management framework (covering ML models, agents, LLM-based systems, and AI-enabled automation)
- Build and manage an AI risk register and safety case library
- Conduct risk assessments of AI systems (e.g. robustness, cybersecurity, misuse, data risks)
- Ensure alignment with EU AI Act risk classifications
- Define and validate AI security requirements and testing strategies
- Approve AI systems for production through security gating and validation
- Design continuous monitoring and lead incident response processes for AI systems
- Ensure adherence to security standards and regulatory requirements ((e.g., ISO 27001, emerging AI standards referenced internally)
- Work with the rest of the Central AI Team, CISO, Data & Platform as well as the Engineering and Architectures teams and provide input into AI playbooks and reference architectures
- Promote AI security best practices and awareness across the organization
Your profile
- Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Engineering, or relevant equivalent experience
- Strong background in AI/ML systems and risk management, including LLMs, agents, RAG architectures, model monitoring, assurance tooling
- Experience with model evaluation, adversarial testing, or system assurance
- Knowledge of AI regulations (EU AI Act)
- Familiarity with security, compliance, or safety engineering frameworks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Understanding of critical infrastructure, energy systems, OT environments, or regulated industries is a plus
- Strong stakeholder collaboration and communication skills
- Pragmatic mindset with focus on secure and scalable AI adoption
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch, French and/or German is a plus
