We are responsible for managing relationships with our suppliers, investors, shareholders, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
To strengthen our accounting team, we are looking for a G/L Accountant. In this role, you will work closely with our Accounting Manager to contribute to the accuracy and reliability of our financial reporting and accounting processes.
Function:
As G/L Accountant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Independently manage and perform month-end and year-end closing activities (G/L accounting, payroll accounting, tax accounting, complex accounting) for centrally managed Belgian companies in close collaboration with the Accounting Manager (BEGAAP/GEGAAP and IFRS in an SAP and international environment)
- Lead the accurate and timely monthly calculation and documentation of some IFRS adjustments
- Reconcile accounts and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy of figures, including documentation of more complex accounting transactions.
- Support to the ICO reconciliation process
- Preparation of monthly/periodic reporting packages (BEGAAP/GEGAAP and IFRS) under the supervision of the Management team
- Perform analytical review of the monthly figures to deliver insight to local teams and controllers
- Identify opportunities for process and internal control improvements and lead and/or control implementations of solutions
- Participate in and/or lead digital/IT projects across the Group (enhanced collaboration BE/GE)
- Collaboration with auditors
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies (accounting manual, accounting memo) and procedures
- Preparation (A to Z), coordination and/or review of reports for various internal/external bodies such as the EGI, Analysts, Tax authorities etc.
- Ability to represent the department in multidisciplinary discussions and report to the Accounting Manager
- Backup role to transversally support the Accounting & Tax team
Your Profile
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or have equivalent experience (CA, CPA or equivalent preferred).
- You have 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- You have a good knowledge of German and English (Dutch and French an advantage).
- You have practical knowledge of BEGAAP/GEGAAP/IFRS.
- You work proficiently with the accounting software SAP (SAP Public Cloud is an advantage).
- You also work proficiently with MS Office and are an expert in Excel.
- You possess excellent analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, proactive and are adaptable to change.
- You can work autonomously, but you also function well in a team.

Location
Boulevard de l‘Empereur, 20 in Brussels (with possible frequent travel to Berlin office) or option to be based in Berlin office for the right candidate. We offer a hybrid way of working with flexible working hours.
