Function

 

As an asset manager “underground high voltage cables”, you will be responsible for monitoring the condition of the asset fleet, risk management and maintenance budgets.

 

You will manage the full life cycle of assets and develop technical concepts, which form the basis of technical specifications, and the Asset Fleet Strategy. You will manage a budget of around € 3 million / year.

 

To monitor and adjust the condition of the asset fleet, you will use information from incident analyses, reviews and technical analyses.

 

Within the fleet, you will monitor the implementation, management and results of the various monitoring applications for underground cables (DTS/RTTR, DAS, etc.).

 

Your advice and decisions will be based on your technical expertise. As Asset Manager, you will be in direct contact with the maintenance teams and study departments that establish the long-term vision of the grid.

 

Your function

 

The activities encompass both existing and new assets:

 

  • You will analyse information relating to situations that maintenance teams regularly face.
  • You will analyse incidents.
  • You will implement a policy and guidelines for maintenance, repair and replacement works.
  • You will inspect the existing installations.
  • You will examine diagnostic methods to increase the reliability of assets and extend their lifestime.
  • You will prepare an asset health index and guidelines for spare parts and operating limits.
  • You will analyse and develop concepts for the use of new technologies.
  • You will prepare (multi)annual maintenance budgets.
  • You will develop and provide training.

General responsibilities:

 

  • You will develop expertise for both yourself and the team through the acquisition of knowledge, training, experience, etc.
  • You will apply processes and adapt them according to the different departments within Elia (maintenance, projects, development, etc.).
  • You will prepare reports, presentations and processes allowing you to report and have proposals approved.
  • You will use IT tools to support the various aspects of calculations and ensure optimal management.
  • You will use national and international companies to provide specific support.
  • You will examine and determine the training required by the project and maintenance teams. You will then develop it and present it to them.
  • You will provide technical advice to different departments.
  • You will take part in internal, national and international working groups and represent Elia within such working groups.

Your Profile

 

  • You have a master’s degree in civil or industrial engineering in the field of mechanics or electro mechanics.
  • You are trilingual (French, Dutch, English).
  • You are passionate about mechanical engineering and want to broaden your technical knowledge and share it with others.
  • You have the ability to thoroughly analyse technical details. However, you are also able to take an appropriate step back in order to place them within the appropriate context while taking into account the technical and financial aspects of asset management.
  • You take a pragmatic approach to work and are results-oriented.
  • You are customer-focused.
  • You like working with maintenance teams.
  • You are able to work as a team (and with several different teams).
  • You like to communicate and have considerable powers of persuasion.
  • Thanks to your excellent analytical skills and ability to be concise, you can explain complex subjects in a clear way.
  • You manage tasks assigned to you independently and proactively.
  • You are able to prepare presentations and compile reports on the results of your activities while being clear and organised.
  • You are enterprising.
  • Extensive knowledge of MSOffice is a plus.
