Why is this role made for you?
Do you love data — especially when it’s accurate, useful, and easy to understand?
Are you eager to make an impact where decisions truly matter, in a sector undergoing a major energy transition?
As a Data Steward in the System Model team, you’ll play a key role in managing and modelling the Belgian power grid — a strategic pillar in the shift toward a more sustainable energy system.
Your mission: make data more useful, more reliable, more impactful
In this role, you're responsible for the quality of the data used in our planning and real-time systems.
You identify, analyse, and improve critical data flows to ensure reliable operations and informed decision-making.
More specifically, you will:
- Dive deep into power grid modelling systems to understand their logic and data structures.
- Assess and improve data quality using KPIs, rigorous processes, and in-depth diagnostics.
- Collaborate with various internal teams (IT, dispatching, grid development, etc.) to ensure data consistency, accessibility, and value creation.
- Help design and implement innovative data management solutions (Data Products).
- Contribute to the implementation of international standards (such as the Common Information Model, CGMES).
- Become a go-to person within the team for grid-related data governance and strategy
Your profile
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, energy, electricity, electromechanics or a related field.
- Ideally, you have 2 to 3 years of experience in data management or analysis, and:
- Strong skills in SQL, Python, or other analytical tools
- A curiosity to understand how the power grid works and how data makes it more efficient
- An eye for detail, a critical mindset, and strong analytical abilities
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach
- The ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and document your work
- A solid command of either French or Dutch, and professional proficiency in English
