Your challenge

Are you passionate about network infrastructure, telecom and operational excellence? Would you like to play a key role in guaranteeing the reliability and availability of critical communication networks?

 

As the Datacom Field Operations Lead in the Datacom team, you will be responsible for the optimal performance of the communication networks that are essential for Elia’s activities. You will combine technical expertise with operational coordination and work closely with internal teams, suppliers and field operations to maintain an efficient and safe network environment.

 

Job description

In this role, you will lead the operational activities of the Datacom networks. You will monitor service continuity, coordinate on-site interventions and make sure that incidents are solved quickly and efficiently.

You will act as the central point of contact for network operations and actively contribute to the further optimisation of processes, tools and infrastructures. You will also support the introduction of new technologies and oversee the smooth transition of projects to operational use.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will ensure the availability, efficiency and reliability of Datacom networks (LAN, WAN and telecom).
  • You will coordinate maintenance work, on-site interventions and handle complex incidents.
  • You will lead internal field operations teams, manage external suppliers and monitor quality, deadlines and safety requirements.
  • You will monitor operational KPIs, identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the optimisation of processes and tools.
  • You will support infrastructure projects and the introduction of new technologies, focusing on a smooth transition to the operational environment.
  • You will work closely with IT, Asset Management, Engineering and Security and ensure efficient collaboration between all the stakeholders involved.
  • You will support the development of operational teams and encourage knowledge sharing and expertise development.

Your Profile

 

  • You have a degree in IT, telecommunication or equivalent experience.
  • You have strong experience in network operations, telecom or infrastructure environments.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN and other network technologies.
  • You are familiar with operational management, incident management, SLA monitoring and supplier management.
  • You feel comfortable in a complex environment with a large number of internal and external stakeholders.
  • You combine an analytical mindset with a strong focus on results and service.
  • You have strong communication and coordination skills.
