Function
As a Tower Designer (Calculations), you will be responsible for implementing and/or checking high-voltage tower/pylon designs, as part of Elia projects, in accordance with the guidelines and legislation in force.
As a designer, you will have the following tasks and responsibilities:
- drawing up plans for new or existing structures (specifically structural steel);
- putting together production files;
- performing checks and providing all the documents and plans required for the proper execution of the project;
- for certain projects, working closely with external engineering firms and ensuring monitoring and quality through checks;
- ensuring the quality of solutions and their consistency with other disciplines;
- monitoring your schedule and reporting to the team supervisor;
- working in a project team where you have a strong supporting role, in close collaboration with experts and fellow designers.
All the research is carried out under the supervision of a design engineer. You will mainly work with internal and external designers and experts. The projects may be commissioned by Elia Infrastructure or Elia Assets. In the case of outsourced studies, the Tower Designer will check the plans submitted by external partners. You will ensure that any comments are clearly communicated to the partners, in order to arrive at a final validated version.
