ESG Expert
Function
The Sustainability Department ensures that sustainability is integrated into all our activities. The successful candidate will become a member of the department’s ESG team. This team manages the ActNow sustainability programme (Governance), is intensively involved in non-financial reporting (Disclosure) and initiates various actions to make sure we achieve our Climate, Environment and Circularity objectives (Implementation).
Within the team, you will take on the role of ESG expert. The ESG Expert’s most important duties and responsibilities involve:
- developing ideas into concrete actions that pave the way for the operational implementation of our Climate, Environment and Circularity ambitions. You will do this in close collaboration with the various Elia departments, focusing specifically on the departments responsible for the construction of new infrastructure and the management of our existing assets;
- organising internal communication and training to raise awareness of and encourage commitment to sustainability;
- ensuring that the various ActNow action plans are monitored (KPIs, dashboard), including data collections and reporting;
- implementing European regulations on sustainability reporting (CSRD and ESRS).
Your Profile
- You have a Master's degree in (environmental or economic) sciences or equivalent;
- You have at least 3 years' experience at Elia or in an environmental/sustainability role;
- You are pragmatic and customer-oriented and seek opportunities to anchor change in existing processes;
- You have project-management experience;You have good communication skills and strong powers of persuasion;
- You are interested in sustainability in the broader sense. You preferably already have a good knowledge of environmental and sustainability legislation at a local and European level (CSRD);
- You work efficiently, enjoy working as part of a team and are organised;
- You are able to work independently and participate in internal and external working groups and cross-functional projects;
- You are open to other points of view and are solution-oriented;
- You are able to develop your own network and you also have a good understanding of the main stakeholders in your different areas of responsibility;
- You are preferably bilingual (NL-FR) and have an excellent working knowledge of English;
- You work full-time or on a 4/5-day basis.
