Elia is currently digitizing its operations. A key element of this process is the development of a Digital Twin of all assets and on-site infrastructure. This Digital Twin is designed and managed by the Asset & Network Model Team. The aim is to create an accurate digital representation that helps optimize maintenance procedures, improve operational efficiency, and support future decision-making within the organization.

 

For this role, we are looking for an electricity expert with a strong interest in data.

 

Under the supervision of the Master Data Management Lead, you will manage and encode the reference data database for the entire Elia organization. This database contains information on high- and low-voltage equipment, locations, and the electrical functions of the grid, as well as the geographical locations of these elements.

 

Your main responsibility will be to encode new and modified grid configurations in the database based on the content of infrastructure projects. This will be done in close collaboration with the Project Manager, using the provided documents and technical plans. You will personally follow up on data delivery and ensure proper communication.

 

  • You continuously monitor the progress of your projects to plan your own work effectively and provide stakeholders with accurate input on time. You remain involved in your projects until commissioning and on-site approvals are finalized.
  • You are, or will become, an expert in handling and organizing data in an operational context with the goal of improving overall data quality.
  • Continuously evaluating data quality and performing data corrections (both operationally and within projects) is a key part of this role, allowing you to enhance the quality of the database.
  • You contribute your expertise and participate in data-related projects (implementation of new tools, data quality projects, IT transformation projects, …).

 

In this role at Elia, you will gain direct exposure to the fundamentals of the Belgian high-voltage grid and quickly build knowledge of the various aspects involved. Elia operates 24/7 to keep the lights on and is constantly working on electrification and strengthening the energy network of tomorrow.

  • You are a clear communicator with solid interpersonal skills to capture and better understand requests.
  • You are a strong team player and can support colleagues when needed.
  • You work autonomously and take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • You have technical knowledge of electrical installations.
  • You are comfortable with IT applications, or eager to upskill in the short term. You use these skills to improve operational processes and data quality.
  • You have a good knowledge of French or Dutch. If this is not the case for one of the two, you are willing to make the necessary effort to learn it.
