Within Grid Solutions – Asset Management & Work Methods – AM Secondary Systems, you play a key role in the reliability and evolution of the secondary systems supporting Elia’s electricity transmission network infrastructure.

Your impact in the role
In this role, you directly contribute to the quality, consistency and evolution of the tools and data related to the protection, automation and control systems deployed across Elia’s network.
Your responsibilities include:
Become a key contributor to protection and selectivity analyses
- You carry out audits and protection selectivity studies using the Sincal tool, in close collaboration with the relevant experts and departments.
- You analyse results critically, identify inconsistencies and contribute to corrective actions.
Take ownership of strategic tools and data
- You manage the data and configuration of the Sincal tool.
- You ensure the consistency of network models and align them with the other simulation tools used within Elia.
- You contribute to the reliability and quality of the technical data essential to the operation of secondary systems.
Play a central role in structuring and steering data
- You manage the ASR database (“Assets Settings Referential”), which centralises the settings and configuration files of secondary equipment deployed in Elia substations.
- You develop performance indicators to monitor the quality and completeness of the database.
- You ensure the associated reporting and contribute to the definition of action plans to resolve identified issues.
Share your expertise and support users
- You support the users of the tools under your responsibility through training, documentation maintenance and day-to-day support.
- You actively contribute to knowledge sharing and the upskilling of teams.
Contribute to the vision and evolution of tomorrow’s tools
- In the longer term, you will evolve towards a “Business Application Leader” role for these tools.
- You participate in defining their vision and roadmap, taking into account:
- new business needs,
- user feedback,
- technological developments.
Actively contribute to digitalisation and innovative projects
- You are involved in the evaluation, development, deployment and management of new solutions as part of the digitalisation of secondary systems.
- You also contribute to integrating AI-based solutions into existing tools and play a driving role in these developments.
Your Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (civil or industrial engineer), or you have equivalent experience enabling you to perform this role successfully.
- You have knowledge of protection systems, automation and control-command systems, or can demonstrate concrete experience in these fields.
- You have a general understanding of electrical networks.
- You are comfortable working with IT tools such as PSS Sincal, Power Factory or relational databases.
- Knowledge of SQL, the CIM standard or Power BI is considered an asset.
- You work in a rigorous, structured and methodical way.
- You are autonomous and proactive.
- You communicate easily and know how to convince stakeholders.
- You are pragmatic and results-oriented.
- You possess strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- You enjoy challenging existing ways of working with a continuous improvement and efficiency mindset.
- You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a good command of English.
