IT Applications & Project Manager
Function
In this function you will lead, implement and support IT projects & applications within Elia related to business department ‘Asset Management’
The project portfolio is consisting of opportunist and practical projects in one hand and ambitious, innovative and challenging projects on the other hand. Their scope is not limited to one specific core business of a TSO but potentially addresses all of them. The main domain of activity is related to Asset Management business department.
The different activities include but are not limited to:
- Managing IT projects, including launch and monitor of projects, the achievement of implementation plans, the follow-up of scope, budget and schedule, the management of resources, issues and risk, the production of project-related documentation,
- Setting priorities, in collaboration with the business, within your projects portfolio,
- Challenging & validating business requirements provided by the business.
- Writing functional & technical design based on Microsoft technologies (.NET) in case of home-made development.
- Managing & leading an implementation team provided by internal .NET development software factory (.NET developers & architects)
- In collaboration with the Purchasing department, the execution of the necessary project phases required when purchasing software: carrying out market studies, identifying existing solutions, managing calls for tenders (RFIs/RFPs), determining acceptance criteria, evaluating bids, analyzing the integration architecture and integrating the software into the existing application landscape,…
- Following up the implementation of purchased market products in collaboration with the external implementation team provided by the supplier.
- The validation of a test strategy and the quality approach as well as their follow-up during the execution phase,
- The organization and coordination of the deployment of IT solutions in acceptance and production environments in collaboration with the IT infrastructure teams.
- The end-user support (second line) as well as the organization and prioritization of the maintenance of the developed solutions.
Your Profile
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in applied information technology, master’s degree or equivalent by experience, preferably with a specialization in the field of electricity,
- You have several years’ relevant experience as a project manager tasked with selecting IT products through calls for tender (RFIs/RFPs) and monitoring the implementation and integration of these products.
- You also have relevant experience as manager of IT projects based on Microsoft architecture (e.g. .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server). You can easily communicate with technical architects and developers.
- You have a good knowledge of Prince 2, Agile, … methodologies.
- You have proven experience in writing functional design to provide specifications to development team.
- You have an analytical mind and good organizational skills.
- You can communicate with stakeholders as easily at the technical level as at the conceptual level but also as the steering level with excellent presentation skills,
- Your customer orientation fits perfectly with your enthusiast personality and you work autonomously and easily in international and remote teams,
- You could spend a few days per month abroad to work out projects in collaboration with companies of the Group and international partners,
- You keep abreast of the latest IT developments.
- Experience in the electricity and/or energy sector, or more generally in the field of Asset Management would be an asset.
- You are fluent in French/Dutch and English.
