Would you like to be involved in producing communications about the energy transition? Elia, the operator of the Belgian high-voltage grid, is facing multiple energy-transition challenges, including the integration of renewable energy into the electricity grid, building new infrastructure and keeping the grid in balance.

We are looking for an internal communications specialist to help us tackle communication challenges! You will work closely with the team manager and be responsible for internal communication campaigns and event content. You will provide content for our internal communication channels and develop internal campaigns and events in collaboration with agencies. You will be responsible for copy and contribute to layout and design too. You will be part of a team of communications professionals in a great company with an important social role.

Your most important duties:

• Helping Head of Internal Communications develop and implement the overall communications plan
• Converting strategy into concrete and inspiring stories and campaigns
• Proactively and reactively advising your various internal customers about their internal communications
• Drawing up communications plans and taking the initiative to develop and optimise them
• Developing, coordinating, writing and ensuring the final editing of inspiring and attractive internal publications for various channels: intranet, mailings, online magazine, digital screens, Elia TV, etc.
• Developing and implementing various internal communication campaigns (for internal events, safety campaigns, change processes, etc.)
• Working with our creative external agencies to develop videos, visuals and other creative content. You will use internal tools to create short videos for internal use
• Helping prepare the content for internal events and ensuring they are promoted internally
• Branding the company, ensuring the company applies this branding correctly and making any updates necessary
• Monitoring the results of your actions and campaigns and making sure they can be reported on accurately

Your Profile

• You have a Communications degree and extensive, relevant experience (approx. 4-7 years) in one of the following domains: internal communication, creative design, copywriting, employer branding, marketing campaigns and storytelling, etc.
• You have experience in the development and implementation of internal communication strategies
• You are bilingual (spoken and written) and have a good knowledge of English
• You are familiar with digital tools and social media
• You have experience of simple audiovisual resources (producing and editing short interviews) and layout tools (Suite Adobe, Canva, etc.)
• You have excellent written communication skills and an eye for detail. A talent for video and photography would be an advantage
• You are creative and committed to creating and developing attractive and inspiring communications
• You have strong presentation skills and know how to deliver impactful messages, both visually and verbally, and you feel comfortable speaking to larger audiences (e.g. on stage or on camera).
• You proactively follow the latest trends and explore options to translate them into internal solutions
• You have a good team spirit and are also able to work independently and take initiative
• You are proactive, flexible, accurate and stress-resistant
• You have an interest in the energy sector
