Job Description
Internship - Congestion Management
Requisition ID:
11032
Posting Start Date:
07/05/2026
Function
The objective of this internship is to upgrade the existing methodology and analytical tool to version 2.0, making it more robust, better aligned with operational practices and suitable for long-term planning studies. This includes:
- implementing lessons learned from version 1.0 by comparing OPF-based optimisation with a dispatch-oriented approach based on PTDF prioritisation;
- analysing discrepancies in redispatch volumes, cost allocation and grid user impacts;
- proposing methodological improvements.
The internship takes place within the Grid Development Department, as part of the Power System Planning (PSP) team. The tool will be extended to a wider network scope (potentially up to 400 kV), enhanced with advanced post-processing capabilities to analyse congestion patterns and flexibility usage over time and space, and adapted for multi-year scenario analyses enabling clear Capex versus Opex trade-off assessments.
