Function
The internship takes place in the Grid Development department, within the Power System Planning (PSP) team.
The main objective is to further develop, automate and make accessible the quality checks and quality indicators of Elia’s grid model, which is used for load-flow studies, contingency analyses and grid development projects.
Key tasks include:
- Collecting and linking data from various internal data sources
- Performing additional network and power flow computations
- Cross-analysing data to detect potential inconsistencies
- Developing and visualising quality indicators through dashboards
- Delivering a prototype usable in the short term and scalable for future development
Analyses will be performed mainly using Python or R, dashboarding in Excel, and you will gain basic experience with PowerFactory software.
Your Profile
- Master student
- Field of study: Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering)
- Interest in power systems and data analysis
- Knowledge of or strong interest in Python and/or R
- Analytical, structured and critical mindset
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment
- Language skills:
- Native or fluent Dutch and/or French
- Fluent English
