Function
During this general technical internship, you will gain insight into various technical fields within Elia, such as high voltage, low voltage, cables, and overhead lines. You will work alongside our technical teams and contribute to projects related to the management, maintenance, and innovation of the Belgian high-voltage grid.
Your responsibilities include:
- Actively supporting operational teams in managing, analyzing, and optimizing infrastructure (high/low voltage, cables, and lines).
- Assisting with technical inspections, measurements, and the analysis of grid performance data.
- Contributing to research assignments and projects relevant to the challenges of tomorrow’s energy network, with the opportunity to integrate your bachelor’s thesis.
- Supporting the development of technical documentation, reporting, and the digitalization of work processes.
- Collaborating with different disciplines within Elia to gain a broad understanding of the technical field.
Your Profile
We are looking for a motivated bachelor’s student (e.g. Electromechanics, Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field) who:
- Wants to gain practical experience in multiple technical domains.
- Has a strong analytical mindset and takes initiative.
- Has basic knowledge of electrical principles (experience with networks, cables, or lines is a plus).
- Communicates fluently in Dutch; knowledge of French and/or English is an asset.
- Works well in a team and is eager to learn.
Offer
- Driving license B necessary
- Period: first semester (September – January) or second semester (February – June)
- Duration: 8 to 12 weeks, 5 days per week
- The exact planning is flexible and will be aligned with your studies and opportunities within Elia.
- Bachelor’s thesis: can be integrated into the internship assignment.
