To contribute to Europe and Belgium’s ambitions for the Energy Transition, Elia has foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid, the Princess Elisabeth Island project. 
The grid shall connect the new Belgian windfarms situated within the “Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone”.  

 

The Princess Elisabeth Island project consists of:
 

  • an artificial energy island (with offshore transmission infrastructure)
  • multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220 kV 
  • 6x 220kV AC export cable systems of ~50 km each
  • HVDC connection (1 converter offshore, 1 converter onshore, HVDC cable system) between the artificial island and the new onshore substation of the Ventilus project
  • possibility to connect future HVDC interconnectors 

 

As part of the project team:
 

  • You are a safety leader and continuously looking for safety improvements
  • You ensure the timely delivery of work packages and high quality of deliverable
  • You seek out design opportunities to create additional benefits to the project
  • You report pro-actively and regularly regarding status and progress of your activities
  • You can independently manage and implement specific work packages and engage with relevant contractors, suppliers and internal experts where required.

 

As Package Manager offshore operations, you:
 

  • Report to the Program Manager;
  • Will develop and manage a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Experts and cooperate with Package Managers, Experts, Procurement Officers, HSE advisors, PMO officers etc.
  • are responsible to manage the project’s Offshore Operations, consisting of the 3 main elements:  Marine and Island Coordination, Transport and Installation for the Substation packages and Offshore Logistics (excluding the Island scope). You will:
  • develop a temporary accommodation and logistics concept for the offshore works on the artificial island, co-create the procurement strategy and tender package(s) and develop the necessary technical specifications and ensure an in time contract;
  • manage these temporary accommodation and logistics contracts;
  • liaise with the different packages and the Marine and Island coordinator to ensure efficient operations;
  • be responsible for the technical scope T&I operations of the EPCI contractors for AC and HVDC substations and will join workshop, HAZIDs, review sessions.

Your Profile

  • Experience in offshore logistics and transport operations
  • You have a Masters in Engineering
  • You have at least 5 years of working experience in the offshore infrastructure sector, preferably with large infrastructure projects
  • You are a team player
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You are organised and results-oriented
  • You can work under pressure
  • You are proactive and a problem-solver
  • You can prioritise and act accordingly
  • You can work in an international project environment
  • You enjoy technical challenges and are a quick learner
  • You have entrepreneurial skills and are not deterred by challenges
  • You have excellent MS Office skills
  • You are fluent in English and have a solid knowledge of Dutch and or French

  • Salary: a competitive salary package, allowance for representation expenses, year-end bonus, double vacation pay, meal vouchers (€8 per working day), eco-vouchers, Sinterklaas and year-end vouchers as well as bonuses based on individual and group results.

  • Private PC plan: once every 3 years, a budget will be made available to you for a PC/tablet with software & peripherals for personal use.

  • Interest subsidies: after you have been with Elia for 5 years, Elia Engineering will be able to offer you a subsidy to reduce the interest charges on your mortgage loan. This will only be possible if the mortgage loan was taken out when you were already an Elia employee.  
  • Elia shares: Elia will give you the opportunity to subscribe to shares with a discount of 16.66% on the average share price. 

Location

 

Main office is in at Quai Léon Monnoyer 3, 1000 Brussels with site visits to the Belgian North Sea coast before and during project execution
Occasional international travel to contractors, vendors etc.
