Elia Group's Works Procurement team is looking for a driven Project Contract and Claim Manager to join our dynamic team.

Our Works team plays a crucial role in the sourcing and strategic procurement of works necessary for the construction of Elia Group’s grid infrastructure. This includes a wide array of projects, such as:

  • electrical and civil works in high-voltage substations,
  • high-voltage lines,
  • underground cables.

 

Our commitment extends beyond procurement to follow-up on ongoing projects, ensuring they progress smoothly from a commercial and contractual standpoint.

We are therefore thrilled to expand our team with a Project Contract and Claim Manager Works for substations works in Belgium.

As Project Contract and Claim Manager, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including: 

 

  • Supporting and advising project teams on all contractual and commercial matters 
  • Ensuring delivered services comply with agreed service levels and commercial conditions 
  • Managing contractual changes, variations, and potential issues proactively 
  • Preparing and managing commercial documentation, including administration, reporting, performance monitoring, price adjustments, and formal communication 
  • Managing contract risks, claims, disputes, and resolutions 
  • Providing feedback to internal teams and colleagues to prevent future issues
  • Acting as moderator between suppliers and Elia Group teams in escalated situations 
  • Supplier management to ensure constructive collaboration and contractual delivery 

    

Additionally: 

  • Align with colleagues on market and supplier knowledge to improve negotiations and define procurement strategies 
  • Contribute to transversal initiatives within Works, Procurement, or Elia Group working groups 

Your Profile

 

  • Master's degree with a technical, commercial or legal background or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 5-years experience in project management, project contract management or procurement of works related services
  • A strong technical affinity and/or experience in infrastructure or energy projects 
  • Structured, autonomous, proactive, and team-oriented 
  • Analytical, solution-oriented, strong communicator with strategic mindset 
  • Fluent in Dutch and French; good knowledge of English 

 

Experience in following areas are considered an asset:

  • Have experience in negotiations or knowledge about contract dispute & resolution
  • Have experience with MS office suite, Aconex, SAP and/or Ariba Sourcing
