Project Data Assistant

Reference ID:  1623

Under the supervision of the Asset Data Operations Team Lead, you will manage the database of reference data for the whole of Elia (InfraRef) in which the grid's high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment, locations and electrical functions are listed. This includes managing connections between this data and their life cycle. This will be done in consultation with the Infrastructure Project Manager, in collaboration with the Assistant Data Manager and on the basis of the documents provided (e.g. project note, commissioning and decommissioning notes, disassembly lists, etc.) and in compliance with the validated procedures. You will monitor data delivery yourself.

  • Your main task will be to enter new and changed grid configurations into the database based on the content of infrastructure projects:
    • Managing locations, electrical equipment and the life cycle of equipment.
    • Managing (the data of) new equipment (both high-voltage and low-voltage) in the databases.
    • Managing associated (meta)data.
  • You will continuously monitor developments in your projects in order to properly plan your own work and provide your stakeholders with the correct input in a timely manner. You will take care of your projects at all times, up to and including site commissioning and approvals.
  • You will be familiar with our stakeholders and associated applications and you will actively work to expand this knowledge in order to formulate input proposals with a critical attitude towards special and/or new cases.
  • You will be an expert in handling or organising data in an operational context with the aim of improving overall data quality.

  • Continuously evaluating data quality and performing data corrections (both operationally and in the context of projects) will be an important part of the role, making it possible to increase the quality of the database.
  • You will be part (in rotation) of the centralised helpdesk that answers users' (business) questions concerning the reference databases and associated applications.
  • You will also proactively support our users: thanks to your thorough insight into how our data is used by our customers, and thanks to your extensive network, you will be able to deal with data problems, capture needs and indicate data initiatives. You will be able to provide training and create awareness around data.
  • You will deploy your knowledge on behalf of and take part in data-related projects (replacement tools, data quality projects, transformation projects, ALC projects, etc.).
  • You will actively collaborate on improving internal and cross-cutting processes. You will proactively formulate proposals for improvement and will be prepared to implement them after coordinating with your colleagues and the team lead.
  • You will support the trend towards a cross-cutting data organisation, where unambiguous, high-quality data is supplied to end users from the Network & System Data Department.
  • You will support ongoing developments towards new tools and a more efficient way of working.

Your Profile

  • You have experience in using databases (at Elia).
  • You are organised, enthusiastic about quality assurance and customer-oriented.
  • You have powerful concentration and analytical skills.
  • You communicate smoothly and have good relational skills for capturing and/or better understanding certain issues.
  • You have a good team spirit and you can support the other team members if necessary.
  • You work autonomously and take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • You have technical knowledge of the electrical equipment and infrastructure on Elia's grid.
  • You are at home with IT tools (or you are interested in further training in the near term). You can use these skills to improve operational processes and improve data quality, among other things. Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, etc. would be a plus.
  • You have a good knowledge of French and/or Dutch. If this is not the case for either language, then you are willing to make an ongoing effort to learn the other language.
