Project Manager Grid Development
Function
The Grid Development (GD) Department is facing major challenges due to constant changes in the energy landscape, new regulations, the electrification of society and ever-increasing requests for transparency from various stakeholders. Digitalisation, the optimisation of data management and the visualisation of certain data are essential to the efficient completion of our studies and for our ability to meet the need our stakeholders have for information and transparency. The electrification of every segment of society is also making it necessary for us to launch specific initiatives, in consultation with distribution system operators, face up to the challenge of the strong increase in electrical end-use and facilitate connections.
To realize our ambitions in these domains, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to implement certain projects in the Grid Development roadmap and ensure their coordination.
It will also be essential for the Project Manager to develop an overarching storyline & strategy, define the roadmap and coordinate the various initiatives in the GD. To do this, the Project Manager will establish the necessary dialogues with other departments and external parties.
Besides the general management of these projects, the Project Manager will also contribute to the re-engineering of business processes in the GD.
The Project Manager’s portfolio will include the following projects:
- Determine a strategy for the external communication and visualisation of data and study results specific to grid development: e.g. the Hosting capacity map.
- Determine the level of detail and the way in which this information will be shared in consultation with internal and external stakeholders;
- Develop the long-term roadmap;
- Manage and implement the necessary initiatives to develop the processes and (visualisation) tools required;
- Action plan for the electrification of the distribution grids.
- Coordinate study work in the GD and with the distribution system operators;
- Consolidate in an overarching strategy;
- Facilitate the GD vision on how society can facilitate electrification and coordinate the corresponding communication strategy;
- The initiatives above are closely linked and there is a large overlap in the stakeholders involved. This is why it is important to place them with one person. It will also ensure that communication is coherent and based on the one voice principle.
- In these initiatives, you will ensure that communication and reporting are clear so that team members and stakeholders receive all the information they need for their particular role in the project. To achieve this, you will also set up the governance and communication structure required.
- You will drive the implementation of solutions that have been proposed and approved and support the change to ensure that projects are completed on time, in line with the agreed specifications and on budget.
- You will manage the project teams and ensure they work together in a way that is competent, motivated and connected so that projects are completed according to plan.
- You will support the owner in the implementation of the (new) solutions developed as part of a project, to contribute to an efficient transfer to operational management (change plan, KPIs and knowledge transfer).
Your Profile
- You have a Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics and are interested in transformation management at company level
- We expect you to have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in portfolio management and in Infrastructure or Assets projects
- So, you are experienced in change management and strategic stakeholder management
- A knowledge of the energy market and its mechanisms would be a major advantage
