Project Officer
Function
The Program Management Officer (PMO) independently supervises, coordinates and optimises programs in close collaboration with the Program Manager (PM).
This PMO will be responsible for the Ventilus project.
The objectives of the role are as follows:
You provide daily support to Program Management activities by applying PMI project management standards and best practices.
- You clearly define the scope and assess possible changes and have them approved by the governance bodies if necessary.
- You facilitate risk management and anticipate problems.
- You maintain a bird’s eye view at all times and monitor all tasks in terms of planning, financial management, risks, resources, scope and quality.
- You develop and keep financial and logistics reporting up to date.
- You report any obstacles and problems and determine any mitigation actions as a team.
You link the different functions within the program team and monitor and promote the integrity of the program.
- You assist and supervise the program team in order to establish and maintain an open culture of communication in which concerns, problems, risks etc. can be discussed openly within the team.
- You take a critical view of team members’ views about the program and encourage the team to do the same.
- You assess the progress of the program with regard to the approved baseline and identify and justify any deviations.
- You oversee the assessment of changes to ensure that all their consequences are taken into account.
Within the program team, you define an approach based on anticipation, proactivity and risk awareness.
- You encourage your colleagues to make forecasts, to act on them and then compare them to reality in order to learn from them.
- You establish a risk register and action plan and keep them up to date in order to limit risks.
- You encourage and supervise risk analyses.
- You oversee the proper execution of the actions defined in the risk mitigation plan.
- You manage and oversee internal and external communication regarding the progress of the program.
Your Profile
- You have a master’s degree in a financial or technical field (or equivalent experience).
- You are preferably PMI/PMP certified or have equivalent experience (minimum 8 years in project or program management).
- You are proficient in financial and risk management.
- You have excellent organisational skills and cope well with stress.
- You are able to build trust and communicate effectively.
- You can focus on detail without losing sight of the big picture, while providing high-quality work.
- You are fluent in French, Dutch and English.
- You are able to build long-term relationships by communicating effectively.
- You foster teamwork and are able to make decisions and solve problems.
- You learn quickly and have a proactive and positive attitude.
