Your role: Reliability Engineer
As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in developing a leading knowledge centre within the Elia Group, focused on advanced asset management practices.
You will actively contribute to the Group’s vision for condition-based, risk-based, remote and predictive asset management by developing the associated processes, concepts and IT tools.
Your responsibilities
- Continuously improve asset management concepts, processes and methods at Elia (asset risk management, cost and performance management, maintenance and replacement policies, etc.).
- Ensure alignment with best practices (FMECA, development of condition-based maintenance, business cases to optimise asset life-cycle costs) and standards (ISO and IEC).
- Identify business impacts and transformation needs.
- Lead cross-functional projects to develop IT tools, data systems and document management solutions dedicated to asset management.
- Advise and challenge asset managers in drafting new maintenance and replacement policies, using an approach based on risk and cost optimisation.
- Contribute to the strategic partnership with the Spanish grid operator Redeia.
- Contribute to international working groups (IEC, IMdR, etc.).
- Train asset managers and stakeholders in asset management and risk management methodologies.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics or applied mathematical engineering (MANDATORY).
- Proficiency in Python.
- Proficiency in data processing.
- Basic knowledge of the activities of an electricity grid operator.
- Experience in asset management is an asset.
- Ability to master risk management concepts and the associated processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, logical reasoning, creative thinking and synthesis skills.
- Ability to work at both strategic (long-term vision, modelling) and operational (practical implementation) levels.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Very good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to bring together different viewpoints and turn them into concrete solutions.
- Experience in project management and change management.
- Proficiency in French or Dutch, as well as English.

Your salary package and benefits
- Salary: a competitive salary package, allowance for representation expenses, year-end bonus, double vacation pay, meal vouchers (€10 per working day), eco-vouchers, year-end vouchers as well as bonuses based on individual and group results.
