Function
The Social & Employee Relations team is responsible for social dialogue with the social partners and oversees the implementation and monitoring of talent management processes and solutions. You will be helping to build sustainable, employee-centred relationships. Open dialogue, transparency and mutual trust foster positive labour relations and ensure a stable working environment.
As a Social and Labour Relations Advisor, your main duties will involve:
- planning, organising and preparing works council meetings at Elia Transmission Belgium (ETB), taking into account the statutory timetable; managing and monitoring the process, from setting the agenda and compiling and gathering the information, through to communicating the relevant decisions;
- organising formal and informal social dialogue, including preparing documentation and following up on action items (local qualification group, investigation committee, trade union delegation, social consultation, ad hoc consultations);
- playing an active role in the sectoral meetings of Joint Committee 326 (Social Affairs Committee, Social Applications Working Group, various thematic working groups, joint committee meetings, investigation committee, conciliation, etc.), explaining Elia's position and views, and communicating the decisions made to the relevant Elia teams, as well as providing the required information and statistics from Elia;
- keeping the work regulations up to date, including publishing them on the various channels (regulations, appendices, work schedules, representation, etc.);
- negotiating and drafting company collective agreements, including registration, support with implementation, monitoring and periodic reporting (e.g. Collective Labour Agreement 90);
- analysing and advising on legislative developments and translating them to the Elia context;
- analysing and advising on various issues within your field of activity: application of the work regulations (e.g. complaints, disciplinary measures), provisions of the articles of association, collective labour agreements, various statutory rules, etc.;
- helping to assess the collective impact of HR and organisational measures (working hours, schedules, bonuses/allowances, mobility, absence policy, collective rules, developments in tools and processes, etc.);
- taking charge of the entire social elections process (preparation, planning, timetable, mandates, tools and organisation, supervision, communication);
- providing training to enhance knowledge within HR.
Your Profile
- You have a master's degree in law or equivalent experience.
- You have at least five years' relevant experience in HR and labour relations
- You have a thorough knowledge of employment law
- You are familiar with how consultative bodies operate within companies
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills
- You are a problem solver and a good negotiator
- You are organised, accurate and methodical in your work
- You are a good listener
- You speak fluent French and Dutch
