Function

 

Your main duties involve:

 

  • Preparing and compiling administrative environmental permit dossiers in collaboration with the relevant departments (Grid Solutions, Grid Relations and Environment) for the Flemish Region.
  • Uploading permit dossiers to the electronic counter (for the Flemish Region: the «environmental permitting portal»).
  • Preparing official letters to be sent to government agencies and third parties.
  • Maintaining internal and external contacts with various departments within Elia and with government bodies and other relevant parties (e.g. architects and municipal and regional authorities) to ensure that the dossiers submitted are monitored correctly and that any amendments requested are uploaded to the «environmental permitting portal» on time.
  • Entering, managing and monitoring permits in the database (SAP), when monitoring compliance with environmental actions within an EMS system (ISO 14001), etc. This also includes coordinating content provided by various relevant internal parties, ensuring the accuracy of information, making documents available in the appropriate digital location and classifying and archiving documents (e.g. permits, official correspondence, agreements, authorisations and advice) so that this information is accessible for other internal departments.
  • Participating in internal meetings.

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. in Law, Literature or Environmental Coordination) or equivalent experience (e.g. as a dossier manager);
  • A knowledge of Flemish environmental law (VLAREM) would be an advantage; an interest in environmental law and technology is a must;
  • You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and preferably have a good knowledge of French or be willing to learn French;
  • You have excellent written communication skills and are structured, organised and accurate;
  • You are able to work independently but are also a team player and proactive;
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and find it easy to work with digital tools (e.g. SAP);
  • You are enthusiastic, committed and motivated to deliver high-quality work; you are also willing to continue learning;
  • You are able to manage the volume of work required and also work autonomously and efficiently after following the relevant courses.
