Function
You are responsible for leading and managing a team of experts and designers. You and your team are involved in the development of the high-voltage grid in Belgium to support the energy transition. Your team engineers and designs high-voltage pylons for projects that Elia Engineering has been commissioned to implement by Elia Infrastructure and Assets.
Your tasks in this role mainly include:
- You are Elia Infrastructure and Assets’ contact person on the subject of high-voltage pylon design and calculations;
- You are responsible for the people management of a team of experts and designers. This involves monitoring programmes and training courses, competencies, development plans, evaluations and leave arrangements, etc. Together with the Calculations Manager, you are responsible for organising job interviews for and recruiting new team members;
- You are responsible for the internal and external communication of developments in your team;
- As the team leader, you manage the team planning. You process requests from Elia, assign them to team members and then follow them up. You have an overview of ongoing projects and a vision for the future;
- You are responsible for the qualitative monitoring of and checks on the files that your team creates. You manage and monitor KPIs and report to the Calculations Manager;
- As the team leader, you follow the latest trends in the market and exchange experiences with both internal and external contacts to gain and maintain the know-how required;
- You deliver and create training courses and share experiences;
- You participate in internal, national and international working groups.
Your Profile
- You are a civil or industrial engineer;
- You can work smoothly in a team, are communicative and have a good power of persuasion;
- You have experience in the management of team members;
- You have acquired the skills to work independently, have a strong sense of responsibility with a good sense of priority and have effective communication skills;
- Experience with mechanical calculations would be an advantage;
- You are preferably trilingual in Dutch, French and English.
