Function
As Team Lead Engineering & Design, you give direction to the team: you steer, supervise, support, coach, organize and develop the operation and the team members. You ensure that the team functions optimally and that Large Projects receives the necessary support for studies. You will monitor the quality of the deliverables, compliance with safety regulations, norms and standards, and correct execution of the studies within the budget, scope and the proposed timing.
The role mainly involves the following tasks:
- Managing and facilitating engineering and design activities to ensure that the team delivers the necessary project deliverables within the agreed timeframe, as well as meeting the project’s quality and scope requirements: planning, technical feasibility, assistance and advice before and during project execution in consultation with programme/project management.
- Build, develop, and motivate a competent team, taking into account the organisation’s current and future needs. Ensure a collaborative, stimulating, and results‑oriented work environment that enables each team member to contribute effectively to the team’s and the projects’ objectives
- As part of projects included in the ‘Large Projects’ portfolio: conducting preliminary analyses of potential infrastructure projects to verify and confirm their technical feasibility. Formulating recommendations for the future implementation of these infrastructure projects.
- Providing P2MOs with the necessary planning information to enable them to carry out the overall planning analyses required for capacity, portfolio management, etc.
- Assisting with and providing the necessary information concerning technical skills management, engineering tools, technical standardisation and technical feedback.
- Translating technical standardisation into engineering and design standards.
- Organising discussion and representation for your field within the Technical Advisory Groups.
- Establishing collaboration in the context of studies for pilot projects.
- - Formulating responses to questions and problems arising from the construction site.
- - Collaboration in the context of authorisation files.
Your Profile
- Civil or industrial engineer, preferably in electrical engineering, electromechanics or architecture, depending on the area of responsibility
- Language skills: French / Dutch / English
- Experience in managing a team of employees
- Experience in engineering, expertise, project management, preferably in the field of high-voltage installations or equivalent
- Management of contracts and services
