Teamleader Q&TI Substations
Brief description
To optimise team management and teamwork in the Quality & Technical Integration (Q&TI) team, a sub-team is being created for the Substations speciality. This job description is for a new position: the Q&TI Substations Team Leader. He/she will lead and be responsible for managing the sub-team in question.
The Q&TI Substations Team Leader is part of the Quality & Technical Integration (Q&TI) team and manages the Q&TI Substations sub-team independently. The team’s core activities involve drafting and providing the integration standards necessary for the Electrical Works Substations speciality.
Detailed description
- Hierarchical responsibility for his/her team via the associated activities (organising team meetings, identifying development needs, managing performance and preparing annual programmes, etc.);
- Developing a vision for the future and strategy for his/her team, bearing in mind the overall strategy of Elia, the Infrastructure Division, the Engineering Standards & Expertise (ESE) Department and the Q&TI team;
- Day-to-day management of the team, e.g. monitoring the activities of the team and the team members, providing any technical support and guidance necessary and checking deliverables, etc.;
- With the team, taking responsibility for the drafting of new or revising existing integration standards, e.g. General Technical specifications (consisting of Basis Specifications and Building Blocs), Engineering Guidelines (guidelines for the study phase) and templates (e.g. checklists for certain activities), etc.;
- Ensuring the validation of these documents via the appropriate validation channels, e.g. the relevant HV-CW TAG body (HV-CW Technical Advisory Group);
- Ensuring that all developments in respect of integration standards are correctly made available, archived and communicated to internal and external stakeholders, utilising the Technical Gate communication sessions for this purpose;
- With the team, collaborating with the Design Standards & Tools (DS&T) sub-team, which is responsible for drafting new HV standard plans, and guaranteeing the coherence between these plans and the integration standards;
- Participating in the Continuous Improvement process with the service’s quality officers and dealing with non-conformities and improvement proposals. Analysing non-conformities to gain a good understanding of the reason for them and communicating the results via Quality Alerts or REX (retour d’experience) sessions in such a manner that as many stakeholders as possible are brought up-to-date and similar non-conformities can be avoided in the future. Improvement proposals must be analysed as well. If they are taken into account, they will prompt the revision of certain integration standards;
- With the team, delivering and organising courses in his/her own area of expertise;
- With the team, taking responsibility on an ad-hoc basis for technical coaching and the handling of various technical questions;
- Participating in the qualification of potential new Works Contractors for the Electrical Works Substations speciality, more specifically a technical evaluation of them in close consultation with the Purchasing service;
- With the team, participating in the technical certification of the quality managers of our qualified Works Contractors for the Electrical Works Substations speciality;
- Visualising, via indicators, of the team’s progress with its activities and reporting to the Quality & Technical Integration Manager.
Your Profile
- You have a Master's degree (in Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering), specialising in Electricity or Electromechanics;
- Ideally, you have experience in the field of Expertise, Maintenance or Projects with the Electrical Works Substations speciality and also a good knowledge of the HV and LV specialities;
- You are bilingual in Dutch and French and have a good basic knowledge of English;
- You have good planning and organisational skills;
- You are team-focused, customer-oriented and able to work well with other services and departments;
- You are interested in the standardisation of technical solutions, processes and working methods;
- You have good communication and coaching skills;
- You have the ability to lead a team.
