As a Technical Expert Customer Connection within Customer Operations, you are the go-to expert for complex connection projects. You ensure the technical quality and consistency of connection studies, support colleagues in resolving challenging cases, and help translate technical expertise into practical solutions for customers and the business.
You also take operational ownership of the Power Quality customer support process, ensuring customers receive professional, technically sound and timely support on power quality-related topics.
What you'll do
- Ensure all required technical, customer and project information is available to initiate and progress connection studies.
- Coordinate missing inputs, actions and deliverables with internal stakeholders, including Grid Development, Infrastructure, Key Account Management and other contributing teams.
- Review complex, sensitive or non-standard connection-study cases and validate the technical consistency of requests, assumptions, study outputs and contractual annexes.
- Identify and challenge inconsistencies between customer requirements, technical study results, operational documentation and contractual implementation.
- Support Connection Studies Operators with escalated technical questions and contribute to consistent decision-making across the Customer Connection Office.
- Determine when additional expertise is required from specialists in areas such as Grid Development, Infrastructure, System Operations, Metering, Legal or Regulatory Affairs.
- Review technically complex offers, connection agreements, technical annexes and conformity-related documentation.
- Develop technical quality standards, checklists and best practices for recurring study types.
- Coach colleagues, share expertise and contribute to onboarding, training materials and decision guidance.
- Translate recurring technical challenges into process improvements, business rules, templates and digitalisation initiatives.
- Act as the operational technical owner of the Power Quality customer support process, handling enquiries related to voltage quality, flicker, harmonics, voltage dips, interruptions, reactive power and equipment compatibility.
- Analyse measurements, technical reports and operational data, translating technical findings into clear conclusions and recommendations for customers and stakeholders.
- Coordinate Power Quality investigations with internal experts and ensure effective documentation, follow-up and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the development of service indicators, reporting, knowledge management and standardised customer responses for Power Quality topics.
Your Profile
- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Several years of relevant experience in power systems, grid connections, grid studies, technical customer projects, infrastructure projects or similar activities within the electricity sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical networks, customer connections and the link between studies, implementation, conformity and contractual documentation.
- The ability to interpret, challenge and clearly explain technical studies and Power Quality analyses.
- Strong analytical skills combined with sound judgement and a pragmatic approach to complex situations.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary stakeholders and acting as a trusted technical partner.
- A collaborative and coaching mindset, with a passion for sharing knowledge and developing others.
- An interest in process optimisation, digitalisation, operational excellence and data quality.
- Fluency in Dutch or French, a professional working knowledge of the other national language, and proficiency in English.
