Function
The "South Telecontrol" team at Elia is responsible for specific operational tasks related to Secondary Systems devices, particularly telecontrol and metering devices, as well as part of the data network in substations.
Due to the aging of the electrical grid and the introduction of new technologies, it is essential to promptly implement new devices, but also to take the necessary measures to ensure the longevity of our existing assets. This is achieved by developing and/or applying adaptive maintenance programs, and by carrying out specific interventions and/or measurements on the existing telecontrol and metering devices.
Specifically, we are looking for a colleague to strengthen the current South Telecontrol team and jointly address the challenges of today and tomorrow. This position mainly includes the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform factory acceptance tests on the full range of telecontrol and metering devices at various suppliers.
- Conduct on-site acceptance and commissioning tests on the full range of telecontrol and metering devices in different substations.
- Contribute to the implementation of specifically defined adaptive maintenance and replacement programs, established by the SecSys Asset Manager, in close collaboration with the various field teams.
- Carry out specific interventions and/or measurements on devices under the responsibility of the Telecontrol team, both in different substations and at customer sites.
- Perform preliminary tests on telecontrol or metering devices or their components when concluding new framework agreements.
- Conduct specific tests in the LV Lab at the request of the SecSys Asset Manager.
- Develop, in agreement with other experts, working methods adapted to specific interventions on devices under the responsibility of the Telecontrol team.
- Provide training for the introduction of new devices or for developed working methods.
- Prepare and apply the required safety rules within their area of expertise during on-site interventions.
