Contribute to the Reliable Operation of Belgium's Electricity Grid

As a Network Data Specialist - Real-Time Grid Supervision & Control, you will join the Real-Time Grid Supervision & Control Data Operations team within the Operated System Model Product Line.

Together with your colleagues, you ensure that Elia's control centres have access to reliable and up-to-date operational data to safely supervise and operate the Belgian high-voltage grid in real time.

You will work with operational data, network models and graphical interfaces that support critical grid operations. Your contribution helps maintain an accurate digital representation of the transmission network, allowing operators and operational systems to make informed decisions every day.

No two days are the same. You will collaborate closely with control room operators, field teams and technical experts while continuously building your knowledge of power systems, operational technologies and data management.

Your work has a direct impact on the safe and reliable operation of Belgium's electricity grid.

 

In this role, you help ensure that the operational data used for real-time grid supervision and control remains accurate, complete and up to date.

You contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the operational network model, telemetry configuration and graphical interfaces used within Elia's SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) / EMS (Energy Management System) environment.

Working together with operational teams, field teams and system specialists, you help guarantee the quality of the information that supports the daily operation of the transmission grid.

Your Profile

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical, electrical, automation, industrial engineering or IT-related field.
  • A strong interest in power systems, operational technologies and data management.
  • The ability to work autonomously, conduct investigations independently and proactively seek solutions.
  • A rigorous approach to work and a strong commitment to quality and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work in an operational environment supporting critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with electrical single-line diagrams or similar environments is considered an asset.
  • Experience with SCADA, EMS, PowerFactory or other power system applications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of power system modelling and transmission grid operations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Elia and its operational processes is a plus.
  • Fluent in French with the ability to follow conversations in Dutch. Knowledge of English is considered an asset.
