Contribute to the Reliability of Elia’s Real-Time Grid Operations

As a Master Data Manager – Real-Time Grid Supervision & Control, you are an active member of the Real-Time Grid Supervision & Control Data Operations team within the Operated System Model Product Line.

This team delivers and maintains the operational models and real-time data that enable Elia’s control centres to safely supervise and operate the Belgian high-voltage grid. By ensuring the quality and consistency of operational data, the team contributes directly to the reliability of Elia’s digital representation of the transmission network and its real-time operational systems.

You play a key role in ensuring that operational users can rely on accurate, complete and up-to-date information within Elia’s SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)/EMS (Energy Management System).

Ensure High-Quality Operational Data

Within your area of responsibility, you contribute to the daily management and evolution of the operational data environment, network model and graphical interfaces supporting real-time grid supervision and control.

Through your work, you ensure that operators, operational applications and power system calculations can rely on a consistent and accurate representation of the Belgian transmission grid.

Your Mission

Your mission is to ensure the availability, quality and consistency of the operational data supporting Elia’s real-time grid supervision and control activities.

You maintain and continuously improve the operational network model, telemetry configuration and graphical interfaces, while ensuring that all modifications are properly validated and aligned with operational requirements.

You act as a key interface between operational teams, field teams and system specialists to support safe and reliable grid operations.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Monitor project planning and coordinate with operational stakeholders, including Network Operations and the National Control Center, to identify and implement the required updates to the operational data environment.
• Maintain and update the operational network model and associated data based on technical documentation, engineering standards and operational requirements.
• Configure, modify and validate telemetry and status signals, ensuring correct parameterization and integration within the SCADA/EMS environment.
• Verify and encode the electrical characteristics of new assets and network components.
• Create and maintain graphical interfaces used by control room operators to monitor and operate the Belgian transmission grid.
• Ensure the quality, consistency and completeness of data, graphical representations and object parameters within your area of responsibility.
• Perform comprehensive validation and testing of all modifications before deployment, in collaboration with field teams and operational stakeholders.
• Support commissioning activities and verify the correct integration of new assets into the operational environment.
• Act as a first point of contact for operational users experiencing issues related to the SCADA/EMS environment and contribute to incident investigation and resolution.
• Collaborate with operational experts and system specialists to ensure service continuity and the effective resolution of complex issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, data quality controls and working methods.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation related to operational data, network modelling and graphical interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, quality requirements and applicable security policies.

Your Profile

• A Bachelor's degree in a technical, electrical, automation, industrial engineering or IT-related field.
• A strong interest in power systems, operational technologies and data management.
• The ability to work autonomously, conduct investigations independently and proactively seek solutions.
• A rigorous approach to work and a strong commitment to quality and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• Flexibility and the ability to work in an operational environment supporting critical infrastructure.
• Experience with electrical single-line diagrams or similar environments is considered an asset.
• Experience with SCADA, EMS, PowerFactory or other power system applications is a plus.
• Knowledge of power system modelling and transmission grid operations is a plus.
• Knowledge of Elia and its operational processes is a plus.
• Fluent in French with the ability to follow conversations in Dutch. Knowledge of English is considered an asset.
