As Head of Internal Audit, Risk Management & Insurance at Elia Transmission Belgium (ETB) and Elia Group you determine the strategic direction for internal audit, risk management, compliance and Insurance. 


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ELIA GROUP AND ETB

 

  • Internal Audit Oversight: Proposition of the annual audit plan, guide audit missions, validate recommendations, and ensure follow up on management action plans.
  • Enterprise Risk Management: Lead the risk management framework, supervise risk identification and assessment, and maintain the risk register.
  • Compliance Oversight: Build and maintain the compliance framework, monitor adherence to laws and policies, and report compliance matters to governance bodies.
  • Insurance Governance: Manage the design, negotiation, and governance of the global insurance program, lead relationships with brokers/insurers, and administrate the captive reinsurance entity.

 

MAKING THE DIFFERENCE 

 

  • Governance & Reporting: Present audit, risk, and insurance updates to executives and Audit Committees, acting as main point of contact for committee chairs and CFOs.
  • Strategic Project Advisory: Advise on risk, insurance, and internal control aspects of major projects (e.g., M&A) and oversee contributions to relevant financial documentation.
  • Center of Expertise: Develop and promote methodologies and best practices in audit, risk, and insurance, serving as key expert for complex topics.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the audit, risk, compliance, insurance, accounting, and tax teams, setting objectives and fostering continuous improvement.

Your Profile

 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in audit, risk management, compliance and/or insurance within a complex, international environment.
  • Strong vision and strategic thinking, combined with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in governance, enterprise risk management, and insurance programs.
  • An inspiring leader who motivates teams and delivers quality and impact.
