Function

 

Elia Group is driving the decade of electrification, accelerating the energy transition and adapting to new consumption behaviours. Elia Group is building an operations team for the new Elia Digital Platform (EDP). The EDP Platform is a service oriented, cloud-native platform that is being built to provide application teams with self-service capabilities to develop, run and operate their software products. EDP Platform provides services for application infrastructure, data, service lifecycle management, application build and delivery as well as services to operate their software products. The EDP Platform is deployed as a hybrid cloud, encompassing both private cloud and select public clouds. The EDP BE operations team will focus on the operational tasks for Elia Transmission Belgium’s private cloud. 

 

The team is now looking for a IAM Cloud Engineer.

 

As an Identity & Access Management Cloud Engineer working on EDP, you will play a crucial role in crafting, implementing, and maintaining our IAM infrastructure, focusing on ensuring secure access to services. You will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our IAM solution and the technical IAM integration of the services developed on EDP. Your work is characterized by close collaboration with our IAM architect and product owner.

 

Scope of responsibilities:

  • Automate the setup and configuration of a distributed IAM solution on our on-premises Kubernetes services platform using GitLab and ArgoCD and extend it to on-premises deployments.
  • Integrate various tools and services using OIDC workflows and configure relevant group/role/permission mappings based on functional and technical role concepts
  • Automated Keycloak configuration management
  • Be the contact person for other development teams to implement their solutions and requirements but also contact person for operational issues.
  • Contribute to the Scrum process organized in regular meetings.
  • Reinforce our operations: executing service requests, handle incidents and follow-up on problems
  • Contribute to the platforms documentation and share knowledge.

Your Profile

 

Technical skills

  • Thorough knowledge of development, operations, and engineering a cloud-native IAM solution with proven skills and experience with;
  • Cloud provider identity and access management, integration with on-premises services and federation/replication of directory infrastructures
  • Hands-on experience with RedHat IDM or IPA, Open ID Connect and SAML, SCIM and PAM, Keycloak and Vault
  • Experience with Kubernetes, helm charts and terraform
  • Hands on DevOps toolchain knowledge: Jira, Gitlab, Backstage, ArgoCD, Harness, Harbor …)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability (Grafana / Prometheus)

 

Non-technical skills

  • At least three years of experience implementing and maintaining IAM solutions
  • At least of 4 years of operational experience with large enterprise applications or systems in a private / hybrid cloud environment
  • Fundamental understanding of core operations processes (incident management, change management, problem management, IT Service Management)
  • Fluent in English in speech and writing. Dutch, French and/or German is a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication and leadership skills

 

Other

  • Holder of a valid driving licence.
  • On-call support: participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and infrastructure.

Location
