As a Investor Relations Analyst within Elia Group’s IR, M&A and Financial Partnerships team, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the Group’s capital markets narrative. Reporting to the Head of IR, M&A & Financial Partnerships, you will act as a strategic interface between Elia Group and the global investment community.
Your mission is to ensure transparent, consistent and impactful communication with equity and debt investors, analysts, rating agencies, and broader financial stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in M&A, Strategy, Finance, ESG and Communications to ensure that market participants fully understand Elia Group’s performance, strategy and long term value creation—particularly as the Group executes its investment and transaction agenda.
You will contribute to the team’s broader mandate by providing market intelligence that supports strategic decision making, including M&A and financial partnership initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Networking & External Engagement
- Serve as a trusted and highly credible point of contact for global equity and debt investors, analysts, and financial institutions.
- Represent together with the head of the team Elia Group externally: engage in investor meetings, conference calls, analyst sessions, industry conferences and capital markets events.
- Coordinate and support key IR activities such as press conferences, investor roadshows, quarterly earnings presentations, site visits, and the AGM or Capital Markets Day.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the buy-side, sell-side, ESG rating agencies, and relevant financial institutions (e.g., Euronext, FSMA).
- Respond to investor inquiries and provide clear, timely and consistent information.
- Monitor market perceptions, sentiment and trading dynamics and feed insights back to senior leadership.
- Internal & External Reporting
- Prepare briefing materials, talking points and Q&A documents for senior management (CEO, CFO, Strategy, Communications) ahead of investor interactions.
- Monitor internal financial performance and forecasts to ensure consistency and transparency in communication.
- Conduct research and benchmarking on peers, sector developments, regulatory dynamics, and global trends.
- Track market expectations, investor behaviour and capital flows to inform the Group’s investor strategy.
- Development of Investor Materials
- Develop, maintain and enhance core IR materials including earnings presentations, the Annual Report sections, investor decks, conference materials and thematic
- briefings.Support the preparation of financial press releases and ensure alignment across all external messages.
- Produce high quality qualitative and quantitative materials to communicate Elia Group’s strategy, performance, investment plan and M&A activities where appropriate.
- Ensure message consistency across IR, Communications, Finance and Strategy functions.
- IR Strategy & Program Implementation
- Contribute to implement investor targeting programs based on strategic criteria and the company’s long term shareholder ambitions.
- Engage with financial institutions during ECM and DCM activities in close collaboration with the Financial Partnerships pillar.
- Monitor global and local investor trends, including growing ESG expectations, and ensure Elia Group’s positioning remains best in class.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in the shareholder base and propose concrete actions to enhance investor engagement.
- Best Practice, Governance & Compliance
- Proactively monitor regulatory developments (e.g., transparency requirements, market abuse regulation, ESG disclosure mandates) and integrate them into the IR program.
- Ensure that Elia Group’s communications adhere to industry best practice and professional standards.
- Continuously improve processes, tools and methodologies to advance the maturity and impact of the IR function.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in investor relations, asset management, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, or within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, equity and debt products, and valuation drivers.
- Knowledge of the energy industry and regulatory context is a significant plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to improving processes and challenging the status quo.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at senior level and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Broad business acumen and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to operate under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Collaborative, customer oriented and trustworthy, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Dutch, French and English.
