Function

As manager of the central warehouse, decentralised warehouses and related logistics, you will be responsible for the following activities:

• You will manage and coordinate the warehouse's operational activities and be responsible for the planning and database manager, their assistant and the coordinator of external warehouse staff (service providers).
• You will organise, manage and optimise the spare parts and consumables (centralised and satellite) warehouses with the aim of ensuring that the correct materials are delivered to internal customers on time and at minimum cost, during or, in exceptional cases, outside office hours. You will establish warehouse and logistics processes, while optimising costs, storage space and logistics.
• You will develop the warehouse in terms of both best practice and tools (mainly SAP and other IT tools) and actively participate in initiatives from other departments that impact the warehouse or logistics by sharing your expertise.
• You will organise transport with your team with a view to optimising services and costs, but you will also be responsible for emergency transport, if necessary, in the event of incidents on the network. As such, you will be part of the emergency plan/team. You will work closely with the purchasing department to draw up transport contracts and manage their day-to-day implementation.
• You will use your leadership and coaching skills to ensure the development of technical knowledge within the warehouse teams.
• You will be the key business partner and discuss key processes with them (strategic parts, warehouse outbound/inbound, etc.) and manage any shortages with Asset Management.
• You will be responsible for the warehouse budget and respective reporting.
• You will drive continuous improvement in order to achieve Elia's strategic objectives. You will monitor this through KPIs, which you will report on.
• You are familiar with and proficient in warehouse management tools. You will ensure that they are kept up to date and ensure their proper use by the warehouse teams and the business.

Your Profile

You possess the following qualifications and expertise:

• A master's degree in economics, management engineering with a particular interest in technology, industrial or civil engineering with a particular interest in management; or a bachelor's degree with solid experience in logistics/warehouse management.
• You have the leadership skills required to manage, develop and coach warehouse teams and internal customers.
• You have a positive attitude and do not shy away from challenges. As a team player, you know how to inspire and challenge your colleagues in order to achieve results. You are comfortable with a pragmatic approach and are customer-focused.
• You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in French and Dutch, with a knowledge of English.
• You are familiar with SAP and its logic or are proficient in another warehouse management system tool that would enable you to swiftly understand and use the SAP warehouse management modules.
• You work well under stress.
• You are autonomous, results-oriented and dynamic.
• You are curious and eager to improve things.
• You are able to adapt your schedule to the needs of the job and work outside office hours when necessary.
