The company

Elia is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage transmission grid (380 kV to 30 kV) and is responsible for developing and maintaining the grid, providing users with access to it and controlling energy flows. Elia aims to become a data-centric company. To this end, a new Data & Reporting Department was recently set up within the Customers, Market & System Division.

The objective of the Data & Reporting Team is to manage the massive data flows generated by Customers, Market & System and to make them available internally and externally, by using dedicated programs and applications and by developing and making optimal use of data skills.
As a member of the Data & Reporting Department, you will help to meet recurring operational objectives linked to the preparation and publication of data that Elia makes available externally through channels such as the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, the Elia website and external reports to the regulator or other authorities, while systematically incorporating into your work a continuous improvement approach geared towards data quality.

In this role, your duties will include:
•    ensuring the correct and complete implementation of publication and reporting processes;
•    monitoring the standards of data completeness and quality on a daily basis using the various monitoring tools;
•    carrying out preliminary analyses of the underlying causes of detected problems;
•    driving frontline actions to resolve potential data issues;
•    if necessary, republishing data to improve its completeness or quality, within the allotted time frames;
•    helping to manage specific communication channels (functional mailbox, ticketing tools);
•    documenting processes, issues and solutions to support the improvement of data quality;
•    assisting project teams with the analysis of specific data-quality issues or the implementation of process upgrades;
•    proactively detecting issues and suggesting ways to improve quality controls/methods or processes/communication channels.

Your Profile


•    You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or business management field.
•    You are fluent in English and either Dutch or French, and are willing to learn the third language.
•    You have good communication and writing skills.
•    You have a good knowledge of MS Office and programming languages (VBA macro, Python) and are willing to improve your skills in this area.
•    You are flexible and work independently.
•    You are approachable and have the empathy needed to work well as part of a team.
•    You are practical-minded and have an eye for detail.
•    You like working with data.
•    You are keen to find ways to carry out your analysis more efficiently.
•    You are pragmatic and solution-oriented.
