Function
Are you eager to shape technology architectures that support critical infrastructure and the energy transition?
Elia Group, through Elia Transmission Belgium and 50Hertz, operates at the heart of the European electricity system. As digitalization accelerates, the boundaries between OT and IT are disappearing, requiring secure, resilient, and interoperable technology platforms.
Cloud adoption, AI, advanced data platforms, and modern infrastructure technologies are transforming the technology landscape. At the same time, Elia is driving greater standardization, automation, and platform-based delivery to accelerate innovation while maintaining security and operational reliability.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect provides enterprise-wide leadership for technology and infrastructure architecture, ensuring that the organization's technology foundation remains secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with business strategy. As a broad technology architect, you define technology principles, standards, strategies, and reference architectures that create coherence across the enterprise while guiding infrastructure architecture decisions and technology investments.
You do not need to be a deep specialist in every technology domain, but you possess a strong understanding of key technology areas such as cloud, network, AI, platforms, and on-premise infrastructure. Leveraging this broad perspective, you collaborate with engineering teams, guide architectural direction, evaluate strategic initiatives, and ensure that projects align with the overall technology vision and target architecture.
Responsibilities
- Defining technology principles that guide architectural decisions across the company.
- Developing domain-specific strategies across areas such as network, AI, cloud, security, and data.
- Creating reference architectures for the different technology domains of the enterprise.
- Assessing projects to determine whether they align with the defined technology strategy.
- Collaborating with infrastructure engineering teams to translate strategic guidelines into practical technical direction.
- Supporting decision-making and project evaluation by clarifying cloud versus on-premise trade-offs.
