The Elia Group encompasses two major transmission system operators (TSOs) in two European regions: Elia Transmission in Belgium and 50Hertz Transmission, one of the four German TSOs in northeast Germany. Both TSOs operate at the heart of the European electricity system as they provide vital links between the various electricity producers and their 30 million end users. The Group’s high voltage network, with its intricately meshed 18,600 km grid, transports the electricity generated by the producers to the distribution system operators and major industrial consumers. In addition, interconnectors with several neighbouring countries allow electricity trade in wider European energy markets. 

Be part of our Tailor Made Developments (TMD) Software Factory in Berlin and develop software components and objects in Elia Group projects.


The TMD .Net Architect is the technical lead for tailor made software developments within projects of the Elia group. You are part of a team of 45 people in Belgium and 40 in Germany. You will lead group projects developed in Germany. You participate to the evolution and governance of rules to guarantee:

  • Development standardization,
  • Delivery time,
  • Quality,
  • Stable and enduring application design.


The TMD Software Factory is working as an internal service provider in the Elia Group, delivering software in all business- and related technical domains.

Your tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Strongly collaborating with our internal Application Managers, you are responsible for technically defining the needed software components and objects within a toolset of given development technologies,
  • Together with a team of TMD .Net Architects defining and maintaining the relevant TMD .Net technology stack used and defined in the team, 
  • Validating and challenging the contents of IT projects, the Application Managers define within the projects you follow technically,
  • Reporting directly to the Head of .Net Architects any problems bound to the technical analysis encountered on projects and also any non-standard solution proposed,
  • Communicating the solution design to relevant stakeholders,
  • Knowing how to steer external software developers by your precise technical feedback within the code review process,
  • Being highly interested in the technology stack available on the market and introduce new ideas among your colleagues in architect meetings,
  • Participating in the TMD .NET architect meeting to share experiences and to develop TMD.NET standards,
  • Being able to adapt your project methodology (agile, waterfall, lean) depending on the configuration of a project.

Your profile


  • Master in IT or equivalent through experience,
  • Very good experience in ADM (application, development and maintenance) in the .NET technology and surrounding technologies,
  • Conceptual knowledge of Dependency Injection, Software design Patterns and Continuous Integration,
  • Very good knowledge in the Windows-Platform and in the programming of C#, .NET and XAML: Uwp, Xamarin.Forms, WPF,
  • Good knowledge in .Net Web technologies (Rest) as well as javascript libraries for web frontends, in integration technologies like Rabbit MQ and Kafka and good knowledge of Sql Server and Oracle Database is necessary,
  • Knowledge of OAuth2.0, NoSql and Kubernetes is an asset,
  • Languages required: German and English fluent (both C1).
