The Elia Group comprises two large transmission system operators (TSOs) in two European regions: Elia Transmission in Belgium and 50Hertz Transmission, one of the four German TSOs in the north-east of Germany. Both TSOs operate at the heart of the European electricity system as they provide vital links between the various electricity generators and their 30 million end users. The Group's high-voltage grid, with its close-meshed network of 18,600 km, transports the electricity generated to the distribution system operators and large industrial consumers.
 
 

 

Take ownership of the new EAM function and build it up from scratch, setting the EAM agenda, defining common standards and integrating the multiple architecture teams in place.

 

The CDO Office is responsible for the definition and management of all transversal IT steering processes within the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) division, which is covering all IT, Digital and Innovation functions of Elia Group. This includes the definition of IT & Digital strategies and roadmaps, IT Controlling, IT Service Management, Information Security Compliance as well as Enterprise Architecture Management.



Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Define the IT & Digital Architecture Vision for Elia Group in collaboration with existing Architecture and IT teams considering expectations of the CDO and relevant department heads,
  • Set group-wide architecture strategies, standards and blueprints for IT & Digital Platforms and services and drive their implementation,
  • Set up a methodology framework for Enterprise Architecture Management, consisting of:
  • Clear scope and goals as well as a uniform group-wide EAM glossary,
  • Processes, principles and guidelines for architecture-related decision-making,
  • Clear Roles & Responsibilities for various existing architecture roles across the IT organization and beyond,
  • Collaborate closely with other architects and key stakeholders within the company,
  • Define documentation standards for as-is architecture of the various layers, e.g. applications, technology, data and data integration, and track data quality,
  • Integrate architecture function with other IT management domains like Project Portfolio and IT Service Management,
  • Implement regular reporting and insight sharing with the CDO, department heads as well as IT teams to ensure a common vision and direction.

 

Your profile

 

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent,
  • Several years of experience as an Enterprise Architect or a related IT management function, e.g. IT Strategy Manager, with strong technical background,
  • Several years of practical experience in transformation programs like Digital Transformation or Mergers & Acquisitions,
  • Expert methodological knowledge in Enterprise Architecture Management as well as practical experience in the rollout of EAM functions within medium to large enterprises,
  • Broad IT knowledge regarding technologies, common frameworks and IT management processes,
  • Ability to abstract and prioritize according to strategic goals, keeping the bigger picture in sight in a complex environment,
  • High level of communication and advice ability as well as moderation skills,
  • Strong networker with collaboration / team focus,
  • Commitment and high motivation for working in a fast paced environment,
  • Fluent English language skills, additional languages in use at Elia Group (Dutch, French, German) are a plus,
  • Certification for TOGAF or other IT management frameworks is a plus.
