That makes this job interesting for me: 50Hertz has long been committed to the energy transition. An important building block for the integration of large quantities of solar and wind energy is the control reserve. The balancing markets have developed rapidly in recent years and offer me the opportunity to work on many exciting topics and thus drive innovation. The environment for this is ideal, as 50Hertz operates the largest platform for control reserve tenders in Europe with the Internet Platform Regelleistung.net.

 

In this position, I ensure that there is always enough control reserve available for our grid to keep the lights on. I carry out the capacity tenders operationally and demonstrate my skills in emergency situations in particular. I contribute my operational expertise to cross-divisional and cross-transmission system operator projects and can therefore make a valuable contribution to the success of the energy transition. I can also support 50Hertz in the development of technical solutions to optimize tendering processes (in-house development). My tasks also include buy and sell renewable energies in power trading and supporting our trading team.


This position offers me a wide range of opportunities to develop, as I work both operationally on the capacity tenders and power trading and as a knowledge carrier on projects. If I already have programming skills, I can use them in 50Hertz's in-house development.


My tasks

  • Independent operational execution of the daily control reserve tenders (capacity and energy market FCR, aFRR, mFRR),
  • Developing and testing measures to rectify faults for the control reserve tenders,
  • Participation in working groups that deal with various control reserve topics (emergency processes, market development),
  • Collaboration in the development of internal software for process monitoring and automation (Python, SQL),
  • Support in power trading in a 24/7 shift system.


My skills

  • Degree in a STEM subject, economics or similar,
  • Solution-oriented thinking and acting, independent working style and initiative,
  • Business fluent German (C1) and fluent English (B2).


Not a must, but advantageous:

  • Knowledge of the energy market,
  • Trading license of Epex Spot,
  • IT affinity e.g., programming experience in Python, SQL, GAMS.
