The Elia Group encompasses two major transmission system operators (TSOs) in two European regions: Elia Transmission in Belgium and 50Hertz Transmission in north-east Germany, one of the four German TSOs. Both TSOs operate at the heart of the European electricity system as they provide vital links between the various electricity producers and their 30 million end users. The Group’s high voltage network, with its intricately meshed 18,600 km grid, transports the electricity generated by the producers to the distribution system operators and major industrial consumers.


 
The Elia Group Procurement Team is located partly in Brussels, partly at the 50Hertz Headquarters in Berlin. The department plays a key role in the delivery of a qualitative, cost-effective and on-time grid infrastructure for both TSOs. At our Headquarters in Berlin (at the mainstation) we offer you the permanent position: Teamlead (Fachgebietsleiterin) High Voltage Electrical Equipments (f/m/d). 


Be responsible for the high voltage strategic procurement team and ensure the electrical equipment supply for the grid at the best value for money in accordance with Elia Group objectives.

 

As a member of the Elia Group Procurement Team, the Teamlead High Voltage Electrical Equipments is responsible for managing the High voltage strategic procurement team, establishing HV Electrical Equipments procurement, acting as acknowledged, efficient and proactive business partner within Elia Group as well as towards suppliers. Therefore, in this function you will manage the strategic sourcing for your category high voltage (development of the category strategy, market analysis and tendering to the contract signature).

In this position you will…

 

  • Build and manage an international high performing team, drive employee development, define responsibilities, set ambitious goals and ensure that deadlines are met,
  • Support and coach the strategic buyers in the implementation of strategic, group-wide category management and sourcing activities and in their personal development (technical & soft skills),
  • Co-develop a holistic high voltage procurement  strategy contributing to procurement’s and asset department vision & strategy together with the Head of Puchasing Group Electrical Equipments and implent it,
  • Ensure the continuity of the contracts (framework agreements) of high voltage electrical equipments to cover the needs of Elia Group at every time,
  • Identify with the asset departments new needs and plan the purchasing procedures,
  • Monitor and control the success and quality of the implementation of category strategies and sourcing activities,
  • Support anti-claim strategies and if necessary, participate in claim negotiations for high voltage electrical equipments.

Required skills and experience

 

  • You have a Master’s degree in technical or engineering studies or you have an economics background with strong technical focus in form of relevant prior professional experience,
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience of which 2 as a team leader,
  • You are bilingual: German and English (both level B2 to C1),
  • You are flexible regarding your place of work and willing to travel within Europe and in Belgium,
  • You are analytical and result driven.

 

Ideally but not a must:

 

  • You are familiar with (public) procurement processes and project management,
  • You are familiar with our markets and trends.
