About agile at Elia Group

Within Elia Group’s division for Digitalization, IT & Innovation, we have recently implemented a product organization as new operating model to complement our classical project-oriented way of working.

We have team of agile forces (this team is the agile chapter), both in Brussels and in Berlin, who support the organization as an agile coach and/or scrum master within the teams to bring more cooperation, trust, cohesion, meaning and continuous learning.  Our vision for the agile chapter in Elia Group is a Learning Organization where Agile ways of working and values are widely spread. About the function

As an agile coach, you will help the organization make the mindset shift that enables working in a lean and agile way and to implement the product operating model:

 

  • You will work closely with your stakeholders to discover together what would be the best approach, finding the right balance between tailoring to their specific environment yet ensuring it fits into the whole. If applicable, you support the people regarding what agile frameworks to use, how to get started, and how to work through problems that arise from conflicts in adoption, culture, and practice.
  • You offer guidance and methods to the teams, coach people in their new roles and ensure they have the tools to make the best possible choices and bring the team in the same direction. You provide guiderails and minimize constraints.
  • You help to deal with complexity with teams by encouraging and supporting them to run experiments and test hypothesis, and ensure feedback loops to help drive and support decision-making
  • You drive cultural change by fostering and nurturing an agile mindset. You give trainings and workshops on specific topics to easily assimilate agile methods to the team. We strongly encourage you to make it fun
  • You actively contribute to the OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) we set ourselves as an agile chapter. We strongly believe in different types of organization, aiming towards distributed leadership, becoming a learning organization.  The governance approach is based on sociocracy 3.0.
  • You act as a sparring partner for your colleagues, together always looking for what’s next: how do we get better, deliver faster, provide value for our customers while helping everyone to grow and have fun
  • You may work closely with certain teams for a while or work more transversally with others, or combine both, depending on the current need

Your Profile

 

  • You live by the agile values and principles, which also reflect in your personal life
  • You have strong skills in coaching, mentoring, training, counselling and facilitating, knowing when to take which posture
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in implementing agile techniques and frameworks in different work cultures and environments
  • You are an excellent observer, you can ‘read the room’ and you are a good listener
  • You are able to inspire and enthuse others for a common goal
  • You are fluent in English, additional language skills in Dutch, German or French are a nice-to-have
  • You’re willing to work on-site for 2-3 days a week and travel occasionally to Brussels/Berlin (quarterly basis).

  • Mobility: we will offer you a company car and public transport or a mobility budget. 
  • Elia shares: Elia will give you the opportunity to subscribe to shares with a discount of 16.66% on the average share price.
