Function

 

The Elia Group Procurement Team is located partly in Brussels, partly in Berlin. The department  plays a key role in the delivery of a qualitative, cost-effective and on-time grid infrastructure for both TSOs (Elia, 50Hertz). Besides the contract negotiations, the Group Purchasing department for Electrical Equipment  of Elia Group is responsible for the procurement management and daily follow-up of its projects, contracts and suppliers for electrical material.

 

Based in Brussels, as Contract and Supplier Manager for Linear Assets,  Structures & FACTS within the Group Procurement Electrical Equipment department your main objectives will  be:

  • Be responsible for managing the suppliers and contracts for the core electrical equipment of Elia’s and 50Hertz’s grid, in line with Elia Group objectives and business plans.
  • As a Contract and Supplier Manager, you will be responsible to ensure the supply of electrical equipment within your category FACTS (Flexible AC transmission systems) ,
  • You will actively communicate with suppliers   , build long term and trusting relationship with them as well as solve problems and develop strategies to secure the supply in an uncertain market environment 
  • Furthermore, you actively manage the client-supplier relationship for the Elia Group’s strategic electrical equipment suppliers on the one hand and on the other hand, you follow proactively  your internal stakeholders of your category and ensure that projects are being carried out as planned.
  • You will represent the Elia Group at the supplier and represent the supplier within the  Elia Group.

 

Responsibility and complexity attract you. With this mindset, you accompany the most important contracts (for example EPCI/EPC) of your projects from the beginning to the end of the project cycle and manage all contract disruptions and contract adjustments.


This includes the following main tasks:

  • You are in permanent contact with your key suppliers
  • You follow proactively your internal stakeholders ( project department, experts, asset department) and   ensure that projects are being carried out as planned.
  • You use your strong analytical thinking skills and high orientation towards solutions to ensure the proper execution of the contracts by the suppliers in conformity with the contractual terms and conditions in the interest of the projects,
  • By applying your understanding of diverse perspectives, you act as a first point of contact within Elia Group for suppliers and for various internal stakeholders (Project Leaders, Experts, …)
  • With your affinity for and high skills in negotiations, you reach reasonable agreements in case of changes, disputes, unforeseen situations or claims,
  • You guarantee the continuous improvement process via return of experience and create opportunities as well as win-win situations
  • You bring in your distinctive sense for quality in onboarding new suppliers, e.g. in pilot projects together with relevant internal stakeholders, and thus ensure the quality of products and procedures across the entire supply chain.

 

In your job, you use both your assertiveness and your empathy in order to manage the cooperation with different stakeholders ranging from the internal engineering department to the suppliers in the whole world.

Your Profile

  • You have a Master’s degree in a technical-commercial or engineering field or you have an economics background with strong interest for technical aspects and projects (or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience);
  • You have experience in contract management, account management, or strategic procurement, experience in turn-key (EPC) project is an asset;
  • Professional experience in contract management and/or claim management of high value contracts (if you only fulfill one of these requirements, you can acquire the missing aspect in this position),
  • You are open to travel occasionally to suppliers’ factories (in Europe), to our work sites all over the Elia grid and to our headquarter in Berlin;
  • You are fluent in French or Dutch and English (at least B2); You like taking initiatives and appreciate taking responsibilities; You are solution-driven;
  • You defend the company’s interest and your own point of view.

 
Extra's:

  • knowledge of German (written and spoken) experience with SAP
  • understanding of the energy market
