Your Team
As a Data Analyst / Business Data Engineer, you’ll join the Data Analytics team within the Asset & System Data (A&SD) department. This team is responsible for data analysis, data management, and the development of reference systems that are essential to the operation of the Belgian high-voltage grid.
Working cross-functionally, Data Analytics supports other departments such as Asset Management and System Operations by delivering in-depth analyses on topics like asset performance, geospatial insights, and real-time data. You’ll operate at the intersection of operational efficiency, digital innovation, and societal impact.
Your Responsibilities
Your role is diverse and will evolve along with Elia’s digital ambitions. You will:
- Visualise data and present insights in a clear and accessible way;
- Perform advanced analyses (e.g. trend detection, benchmarking);
- Monitor and improve data quality;
- Actively contribute to digitalisation projects and the delivery of data products;
- Optimise data management processes by identifying risks and opportunities;
- Translate business needs into impactful, data-driven insights;
- Collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
- Experience or strong interest in Data Science, AI, or software development;
- Analytical, results-oriented, structured, and able to work independently;
- Strong communicator with both technical and business audiences;
- Curious and eager to learn – exactly what we look for at Elia;
- Proactive team player with a customer-focused mindset;
- Solid knowledge of Python and SQL; experience with Spark (Azure/Databricks), OPP or TensorFlow is a plus;
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Power BI is a strong asset);
- Knowledge of the energy sector or of Elia is a plus;
- Fluent in English and either Dutch or French.
