Data Integration Engineer
Function
The mission of Elia Grid Development (GD) is to develop the grid infrastructure of the future within the context of the energy system’s transition to net zero. The energy revolution goes hand in hand with the advent of new technologies for both load and generation and the emergence of many small new players. While the roadmap towards net zero has been described in national goals, for Elia it is important to also have good local information, even when these small players are not directly connected to the Elia grid. It is the role of the Scenarios Processes & Data (SPD) team to manage this local data.

- Lead the development of IT projects focussed on data flow (pipelines, orchestration, scale) and consumption (API’s, reports, visualisation).
- For smaller projects, implement the required python modules yourself adhering to best practices.
- Support your colleague’s by performing code reviews and assessments of their deliverables.
- Assist in hiring, managing, reviewing and evaluating external resources in support of the team’s deliverables.
- Support your colleagues in transforming their proof of concepts notebooks into minimum viable products that can be injected into the automated pipelines.
- Propose and implement new processes that enforce best practices for managing our codebase.
- E.g. formal code reviews evaluating modularity, documentation, style, …
- E.g. agile work tools to manage backlog items and tickets.
- Share knowledge and coach colleagues to increase the overall data maturity level.
