Energy Market Expert - Capacity Remuneration Mechanism
Function
The position aims to reinforce the CRM Team which is responsible for the design of the Capacity Remuneration Mechanism (CRM) and other adequacy-related topics. Together with the Design Team and the larger project structure of the CRM, the person will be involved in several tasks such as the development of the long term evolutions of Capacity Mechanisms, the market rules describing the design, providing support to the operations and implementation team. You will work on the harmonization of CRMs in Europe and the integration with Flex Mechanisms. In short, you will be ensure the CRM remains fit for purpose in the evolving energy market.
As an Energy Market Expert, you will interact with both internal and external stakeholders in view of the following tasks:
- You bring expertise to discussions related to the development of the CRM design and the framework (rules, explanatory documents, procedures,…) in close collaboration with the Design Team and departments such as Customer Relations, Public and Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Business Analysts.
- You are responsible for the follow-up, development and improvement of one or more design aspects (pre-qualification, auction, settlement and monitoring processes, contract management, pre-procurement control, transparency and reporting, availability monitoring, secondary market...) and./or deliverables (functioning rules, procedures, reportings,…) To do so, you develop the necessary expertise and take the necessary initiatives in collaboration with the Design Team. You also develop concrete design solutions, run the necessary (quantitative or qualitative) analyses to support your ideas,…
- You make the link with the implementation and operational teams to support their work from your design perspective and to gather useful feedback in view of improving the design and/or the rules.
- You participate in external discussions about the design elements of the CRM (e.g. Task Force, bilateral meetings, CREG, FPS,...) and contribute to the development of the necessary material for such exchanges.
Your Profile
- You have a master degree in (commercial) engineering, with an interest in economics
- You understand how the energy market works
- You speak both national languages and English
- You have excellent analytical skills and are able to think conceptually;
- You have experience in leading projects or coordinating autonomously deliverables involving many (internal) stakeholders
- You have excellent writing skills (incl. the establishment of (formal) market rules and/or procedures)
- You have excellent presentation skills and are able to communicate clearly;
- You enjoy working in a team and are result-oriented;
- You have a minimum of 5 years' experience.
