Function

 

Are you ready to support the energy transition by giving assurance and making a tangible impact? Elia Group's Internal Audit Department engaging an Internal Auditor to review the effectiveness of controls and processes. The audit team develops a constructive and positive relationship with all management levels and it tends to continually optimise and increase the quality of its services.
In this dynamic role, you'll work within our Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance team, coaching and supporting colleagues at Elia in enhancing their risk management practices. You will be coached by and report to the Internal Audit Manager.


As an Internal Auditor, you will have a versatile and influential role with following responsibilities:

  • Review the company’s operational, IT and financial processes to ensure they are satisfactory in terms of internal control, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prepare, plan and execute audit assignments, validate findings and establish recommendations.
  • Check that processes comply with the governance principles applicable within the company and with external laws and regulations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with your Audit, Risk & Compliance colleagues in Belgium and Germany as well as with various other second line control functions.
  • Network Building: Build a robust network, both internally and externally, to swiftly identify emerging risks and leverage expert insights.
  • Effective Communication: Translate audit observations into clear, effective reports and language tailored for senior and executive management audiences. Present the audit results at the various levels concerned.
  • Periodically monitor the execution of action plans agreed with the audited departments.
  • Efficient Information Exchange: Leverage GRC software to gather and exchange information efficiently with risk and action owners and other control functions, including Internal Audit and Risk & Compliance teams in both Belgium and Germany.
     

Your Profile

 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in internal audit giving you a solid understanding of planning and executing internal audits.
  • The ability to draw conclusions and make effective recommendations out of all information gathered.
  • The capacity to manage evolving or competing priorities constructively.
  • IT audit and data analysis experience would be a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to work independently as well as in (cross-functional) teams.
  • A pragmatic and hands-on approach.
  • Diplomacy.
  • Fluency in English, French, and Dutch.
  • Knowledge of Elia or the electricity sector is a plus as well as a CIA certification.
