Job description  

 

The Grid Development Department is responsible for scenario analysis, market analysis and the evaluation of the suitability of various energy sources. Our role is to investigate the future of energy systems in Belgium and Europe. To this end, we are now modelling all energy vectors, including heat, which has not yet been explicitly modelled. This internship aims to address this issue.

 

  • Get ready to dive into the world of "Multi-energy model" and "unit commitment & economic dispatch" models! Learn all about them and how they work.
  • We'll also be doing a literature review on heat demand. See how it's done in another study and assess the best methodology to model heat demand.
  • Then, it's time to put your newfound knowledge to the test with a test case and assess the impact on the multi-energy 2050 model.

Your Profile

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with the following profile: 
  • You are working towards your master's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanics, informatics).
  • Knowledge in energy is a plus
  • You have an excellent command of English. You have a good grasp of Dutch and/or French.  
  • You possess good communication skills and can work in a team.
  • You will be working remotely several days per week and feel comfortable with it.

Offer

 

Period and duration: 

You can opt for an internship in the first (June-September) or second half of the year (September-December). The internship lasts at least twelve weeks and you will work between three and five days a week, depending on your availability.
