Elia is facing one of its biggest challenges ever: supplying energy for the electrification decade. The energy transition and mass electrification will accelerate in the months and years ahead. In its role as a market facilitator, Elia is working on the development of Consumer Centric Energy Solutions.
The increasing use of renewable energy sources and mass electrification is causing a paradigm shift in consumer behaviour: demand will need to adapt to available production. One of the main solutions is to promote the development of flexibility, either at the request of Elia (balancing services) or in response to a financial incentive (implicit flexibility and new energy solutions). Elia needs to unlock all the flexibility available behind consumers’ main meters for every voltage level. This process must also be seamless and benefit consumers.
To help flexibility service providers and consumers develop and valorise flexibility, Elia is looking for a KAM Energy Solutions. The KAM Energy Solutions will:
Support flexibility service providers and Elia customers:
- help flexibility service providers and Elia customers access Elia's flexibility products based on their needs;
- manage the contracting, implementation and settlement of balancing services;
Interact with colleagues:
- understand and challenge the principles of market design and operational processes in order to meet the needs of Elia’s flexibility and energy service providers and customers;
- ensure the implementation of digital customer-centric solutions within a product-approach organisation;
- represent customers in the various product teams for energy solutions (balancing services, multiple Balance Responsible Parties (BRPs), etc.);
Contribute to tasks and projects that help us organise ourselves more efficiently as a team:
- add to and update internal documentation (e.g. customer files) that help us onboard new team members and cover absences;
- help find solutions that facilitate the work of the KAMs, by formalising, optimising and/or digitalising existing procedures.
Your Profile
- Master’s in Engineering;
- At least 2 years of experience in the energy sector and a good knowledge of the Belgian energy market;
- Customer-centric and independent;
- Fluent in English and also Dutch or French, plus a good understanding (or more) of French or Dutch;
- Solution-oriented and proactive: propose solutions or alternatives that make progress possible;
- The ability to work in a rapidly-evolving environment and integrate updates quickly;
- Team spirit and results-driven;
- Very good communication skills.

This office is easily accessible by public transport, a 5-minute walk from Schaarbeek station.
